A warm welcome awaits you at Villa de Campagne which sits in the hamlet of Chez Chiron in the beautiful Charente region. With the faboulous city of Bordeaux and its international airport being just over an hour way, Angouleme 35 minutes drive makes this the ideal location for couples and families to enjoy your French getaway.
Set in a quiet Hamlet offering a relaxing and rural holiday retreat with typical french rustic charm where you can enjoy the abundance of birds and wildlife surrounded by sunflowers, crops and vines. There is plenty to do with lots of lovely country walks from the gite and an easy drive to all that the Charente offers.
Our spacious newly finished and furnished gite sits on the edge of the hamlet set in a valley with stunning far reaching views and offers large comfortable accommodation. With two ample outside areas you are spoilt for choice where to enjoy the sunset with a glass of local speciality Pineau des Charante, if you're lucky you might spot a deer or two.
Nearby Chalais and Barbezieu-Saint-Hilaire are definately worth a visit especially on market day where you can appreciate the pretty character of typical French towns and sample fresh local produce. With the added bonus of some lovely restaurants, bistros, shops, supermarkets and a visit to the chateaux you can combine several activities for a great day out. Also not forgetting the famous Riberac Friday market (the biggest on the Dodogne) only a 45 minute drive making it a definate must!
The picturesque city of Angouleme is a place to spend an hour or two exploring and also has a daily indoor market offering plenty of tasty treats to try.
With popular Aubeterre-sur-dronne recently voted 'one of the most beautiful villages in France' the perfect place to sit enjoy a meal and a glass of beer whilst soaking up the atmosphere, before heading to the river beach to hire a canoe or simply enjoy the sun. St Aulaye river beach, Cognac with it's many distilleries, St Emilion chateaux and vineyard you're spoilt for choice where to spend your days out.
Brossac lake beach, popular with children is only 5km and offers a sandy beach with several restaurants, indoor pool, mini golf, 'teleski nautique' zipwire and woodland walks.
Spending a day or two at the villa will also allow you to chill out, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings with the chance to soak up the sun, jump in the pool or enjoy a leisurely meal and taste the local wines, heavenly bliss!! (the reason we decided to come to France!)
Villa de Campagne is our 2nd property in Chez Chiron and was completed at the end of 2017.
Upon arrival and to welcome you to Villa des Campagne you will be greeted with a welcome basket with enough supplies for your first night consisting of: bottle of wine, sugar, tea, coffee, baguette, butter, pasta, homemade pasta sauce, washing up liquid, kitchen roll, soap, and toilet roll. (Please note: Subject to availability and could change at anytime)
VILLA DETAILS
You enter the villa via the decking area and through the main door into:
OPEN PLAN KITCHEN/DINING/LIVING AREA
The newly fitted kitchen has all the appliances you will need for a comfortable holiday stay including coffee machine, induction hob, electric oven, extractor fan, dishwasher and washing machine. With all crockery, cutlery, utensils, glasses for inside and outside (plasticware).
DINING
There is an extendable oak table and six chairs (high chair available on request)
LIVING
The spacious living area has ample seating including a sofa (which can be converted into a large double bed) and two leather chairs with footstools. There is a fully functional woodburning stove, colour television with Freesat UK TV and DVD player. French doors lead onto the undercover terrace area and garden.
MAIN BEDROOM
The large bright main bedroom offers tranquil space with a comfortable kingsize bed, bedside cabinets, dressing table and ample fitted wardrobes. With the added bonus of comfortable seating area to enjoy morning coffee or afternoon tea (there's plenty of room for a travel cot available on request)

ENSUITE
The tastefully decorated ensuite offers a large shower, rainwater showerhead and an adjustable showerhead, hand basin and WC and heated towel rail.
SECOND BEDROOM
The second bedroom has twin beds with bedside cabinets, chest of drawers and a large wardrobe.
FAMILY BATHROOM
The family bathroom is tastfully tiled offering a bath with a flexible shower attachment (ideal hair washing or rinsing off small children), vanity basin with mirror over with fitted light and WC, heated towel rail.
OUTSIDE
There are two outside areas to choose from.
To the front of the Gite there is a large raised decking area with far reaching vista ideal for watching the sunset with a glass of wine in the evening, there is large dining table and six chairs with parasol. Trellis with passion flower, Virginia creeper and other climbing plants offer further privacy.
You can access the outside pool area (laid to stone) from the living room onto the undercover veranda which has a bistro table and two chairs with further shade under the rose covered trellis, this area can also be accessed from the gate adjacent to the parking at the front. There are four poolside chairs and table with a gas griddle supplied.
Both areas offer excellent sun and shade exposure at different times of the day.
PLEASE NOTE:
We will supply the following:
Bed linen, towels(Hand and bath) the appropriate amount for the duration of your stay (more provided upon request if required), tea towels, tablecovers, vacuum cleaner, dustpan and brush, mop and bucket, cleaning cloths, and cleaning products.
SMOKING is only permitted in the outside areas using the ashtrays provided, and is strictly forbidden inside the villa.
2 DOGS are permitted in the villa, but we would ask for your co-operation not allow them onto the furniture or beds. All dog mess to be cleaned up and disposed of in the commune bins before departure and is the responsibility of the owner.
