The Barn is a beautiful old farm building, converted in 2021 into a luxury, two-bedroom, spacious holiday cottage. Here you are situated in an elevated position, in a wonderful part of southwest Scotland, where you can admire stunning views over neighbouring countryside. The open plan living space makes the cottage a very desirable place to be, with a floor to ceiling window affording magnificent views and plenty of light to flood into the living area. It is spacious and beautifully furnished throughout, with a modern kitchen offering all the appliances you would expect. Just off from the open plan living space and up a couple of steps is the master bedroom, with kingsize bed and luxury en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. Just down from the living area is the second bedroom, with double bed and luxury en-suite shower. The property has a private garden with hot tub and a lawned garden shared with the owner’s other property next door (The Bothy). The Bothy is all on the ground floor with either steps or a ramp to the front door.
This beautiful holiday home is ideally placed for you to explore the wider area. Enjoy miles of stunning, dramatic coastline, with secluded little bays and sandy beaches; historical buildings; splendid National Trust Gardens and supreme mountain biking to more challenging hill walks. A meander round the picturesque little villages of Rockcliffe and Kippford, with their breath-taking sea views, is a must. For those with the shopping bug, why not visit the county town of Dumfries, or Gretna Green Outlet Village? For a day trip, take a train station at Lockerbie, heading out along the west coast main line. The historic cities of Edinburgh and cosmopolitan Glasgow are easily reached within an hour. The area really has something for everyone!
