Situated in an elevated position with wonderful views over the Caledonian Canal and across to the Aonoch Mor mountain range, this detached property is only 10 miles from Fort William. Lochy Bay (Coire Laith) is in an ideal location for those wishing to explore the west coast of Scotland and, from the property, there is direct access to the canal path. Surrounded by forest trails, beautiful lochs and sleepy glens, it is perfect for those wishing to take a more leisurely pace. Lochaber is known as the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’ and has the world championship mountain bike course on its doorstep. Other outdoor activities include skiing, snowboarding, climbing, sailing, horse riding and golf. Brown trout fishing and coarse fishing are available nearby. With so many water based activities nearby, don’t forget to bring along your kayaks or small sailing dinghies! The breathtaking scenery has been used as the backdrop for many well-known films, including Brave Heart and Rob Roy, whilst the West Highland Steam Train (seasonal) takes you past the Glenfinnan Viaduct, as depicted in one of the Harry Potter movies. Short ferry crossings will take you to many of the inner isles including Eigg, Rhum, Mull and Lismore. Wildlife is in abundance, and offers the chance to spot golden eagles, deer, otters, porpoises and dolphins. The area is also steeped in history and there are many castles, monuments, museums, gardens and craft shops to visit. Glencoe, Oban, Loch Ness Inverness and the Isle of Skye are easily accessible. The owners’ offer guests free tickets to The Skipinnish Ceilidh House, a traditional music venue held during the summer in Oban (subject to availability). Shop, pub and restaurant 3½ miles.
