The famous village of Slad, immortalised by the author Laurie Lee, is just minutes away. For walkers, there are many footpaths and the Cotswold Way is within a short drive. Bohemian Stroud has an array of independent shops and the surrounding Golden Valleys are an attractive location from which to explore the western Cotswolds. Regency Cheltenham, 8 miles, has boutique shopping, Cheltenham Racecourse and world-famous jazz and literary festivals. Cirencester, the ’Capital of the Cotswolds’, is 10 miles away and is a charming Roman market town. Slightly further afield is Bibury, reputedly acknowledged by William Morris as ‘the prettiest village in England’. Visit Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh with its famous Tuesday market and Chipping Campden.
