From the living room and bedroom there is wonderful mountain scenery that you can also enjoy from the large balconies. The apartment is 20 mins from Granada/Alhambra Palace a world UNESCO site, and about 30 mins from ski resort. You will find prices here much cheaper than in the ski resort or the centre of Granada. Ski equipment can also be hired locally in the village, avoiding long queues in the main resort. Ski passes and lessons can also be pre-booked with an english instructor. Güejar Sierra, with its cobbled streets and flower draped balconies is something of an undiscovered gem - a well kept Spanish secret. This is where the sophisticated Granadinos and those 'in the know' come to enjoy the best of all that the Sierra Nevada can offer. The village has great tapas bars, restaurants, two lovely pools in summer. We are happy to help organise chef services, tapas tours, hiking, biking, horse-riding, treasure hunts for children.
Bookable local activities: We can arrange local walks, mountain hikes, kayaking, climbing and mountain biking with qualified local guides. Also horse-riding, massage therapy and cultural or culinary tours of Granada.
The balcony from the living room has a table and chairs so that you can enjoy the views with some wine after a day sight seeing or just relaxing. Because travelling is never easy with young ones there is a baby/toddler pack available at the apartment to help take the stress out of travelling. This includes travel cot, toys/books, high chair seat adaptor. Please enquire at time of booking. There are many new play parks in the village that are fantastic for young ones. Children are made very welcome in the village.
The beach is 60 mins drive away and there are also many local places to swim such as the camp site in the village, the lake and many river pools.
Sierra Nevada ski resort: The apartment is ideally placed for skiing at Pradollano in the Sierra Nevada. The Sierra Nevada boasts some of the highest downhill runs in Europe as well as being the most southerly - so it often enjoys better snow than the Alps. The resort - with its superb services and installations was built for the World Ski Championships and has been selected for the 2015 Winter Universiade, the World University Games, and offers its visitors a wide range of facilities and a ski terrain to suit skiers & boarders of all standards. There are 100 km of ski runs, 117 pistes and nearly 400 snow machines guaranteeing snow on the slopes. There is also night skiing by floodlight! As one of Europe's highest resorts it has a surprisingly long season and traditionally opens at the end of November running through to the end of April or even into the first week of May. The resort is so far south that the climate is superb for brushing up on your tan and on clear days there are views of Africa from the top!
