The Space:
This inspiring space in an antique building with touches of authentic colonial architecture mixed with European Deco, once the home of a pianist with a European background and an “artist getaway” spot and is now a beautiful escape for many guests coming to experience Mérida and all its charm! The gorgeous sunset rooftop really adds an “awe” factor to make the place ultra special.
The main spaces of this 130 sqm/1400 sq ft (not including the roof terrace!) features:
- A nice open living and dining area that makes it fabulous for together time. The door opens and you’ll see beautiful chandeliers, a nice sofa and living area, and a Smart TV to relax and enjoy downtime between sightseeing.
- Just after the living area is the lovely dining room and a great dining table for 6 with direct access to a garden courtyard through the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. Open them up to get a great indoor/outdoor connection at mealtime.
- There’s a kitchenette with just the right amount of appliances to whip up a simple meal, reheat leftovers or make a fresh pot of coffee in the morning.
- There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms to accommodate up to 4 guests. The bedrooms are both on the main floor as such:
BEDROOM 1: 1 King bed, ensuite bathroom, desk & chair & TV
BEDROOM 2: 1 Queen bed, ensuite bathroom & lots of shelf space for your things
- The garden open-air courtyard is a great spot to enjoy some fresh air, relax and read, or have a beverage al fresco. There’s a BBQ grill you can use and there are steps through there to the rooftop.
- The best part ever is the gorgeous sunset rooftop terrace with lovely views of the city and magnificent to enjoy a cocktail or beverage up there at sunset.
When it’s time to venture out, you can head to town walking. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, markets, and tourist attractions nearby. (See the “Neighborhood” section near the map)
There are also fun day trip options too like Valladolid, considered a Magical Town (“Pueblo Magico”) with stunning 1500s architecture and a very authentic Mayan town. If you’re looking for a beach, head north to Progreso and walk its famous Malecón, a paved waterfront promenade that runs 1.1km/.68 miles one way with loads along the way to see and do. Go see wild pink flamingos at the salt flats in Celestún or on an excursion to visit one of the many Mayan Ruins. Chichén Itzá is one of the most famous of course as it’s one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World!

The Neighborhood:
Just one block away is PASEO DE MONTEJO – a wide avenue, modeled after Paris' Champs Elysees that is lined with the mansions of Mérida's old aristocracy. If you’re looking for a nice stroll on a sunny day, this is where you’ll wanna come. There are many cafes, cantinas, restaurants, landmark buildings, parks and monuments, and a few street vendors with handmade artisan crafts and sometimes delicious food offerings like pan de elote (cornbread) or marquesitas (like rolled-up pizzelle filled with your desire like caramel, chocolate (usually Nutella), sweet cream, cheese and more.
This is definitely the best location in town because you’re nearby so many of the attractions in historic downtown – you can walk to so much from the home!

Getting Around:
You can find free parking on the street in front of the house if you’re traveling by car. But just know that the home is situated in a great location in historic downtown and you can walk to everything, it’s very safe. You can also taxi around too. And for day trips, the ADO public bus system is a very economical means of transport.
The nearest Mérida International Airport (MID) is the closest airport, 7.4 km/4.4 mi or about a 15-min drive from the house. If you happen to be flying into Cancun International Airport (CUN), it’s about a 3-hour drive to Mérida. There are shared-ride and private vans, UBER, taxis, and rental car options. Let us know if you need any assistance.

Must climb stairs to access the rooftop terrace with views.
Please note, that the kitchenette is small and basic with limited appliances but you can easily make a simple meal, reheat leftovers or make a fresh pot of coffee.
We can help you with additional services (through our local team) like booking restaurant reservations, private chef/catering, pre-stocking groceries/home goods, supplying baby/children’s items, private transportation, airport service, and car rentals. Please let us know in advance if you’d like any of these services.
Wi-Fi, SmartTV, bed linens & bath towels are provided free for guests. We also provide some home & bath essentials to get you started like some toilet paper, paper towels, soap & shampoo. Just note, these items are not replenished. If you run out, you’ll need to purchase more.
There is no daily housekeeping service but should you require cleaning during your stay, one can be arranged at an additional charge.
Pets are allowed with prior authorization at booking and a pet fee may apply. Pets cannot sleep on beds or go on any furniture. Damages made by the pet will be charged to the guest.
Guests will be requested to sign a Rental Agreement upon booking confirmation.
A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.
HOUSE RULES
- Travelers must be at least 28 years of age or older to book.
- No smoking of any kind is allowed on the premises. Smoking tobacco, cannabis, or the use of any recreational drugs in the house is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will incur a $300 penalty.
- Please return the key to the lockbox as you check out. There's a $30 charge for a lost key or if the key is not left in the lockbox upon departure.
- No parties or events are permitted, illegal activity is prohibited, and excessive noise won't be tolerated. No loud music is allowed after 10 pm. Please be respectful of the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed.
- No tent or other structures may be set up on the ground of the property.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if such is needed after their stay.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are allowed with prior authorization at booking and a pet fee may apply. Pets cannot sleep on beds or go on any furniture. Damages made by the pet will be charged to the guest.
- Please note that any changes to the reservation dates must be approved by the host after they confirm that the property and its amenities are in perfect working condition.
