Shopping
Fivizzano, 15 mins drive, is a bustling market town and provides everything you would need in terms of grocery shopping. There are fantastic bakeries and produce stores, banks, and pharmacies. The butchers are only open in the mornings.
Fivizzano‘s market is every Tuesday when local produce is on display as well as knick-knacks and curios.
Further afield, Aulla (30 mins drive) has larger supermarkets with the Conad being the largest. The Conad is in a shopping development with Upim and various household and electronic stores, so between them all, there is little you cannot find. Next door is also a hardware store, Brico, on the off chance you need anything handy!
Entertainment
Whilst the local towns of Fivizzano, Verrucola, Equi Terme, Pallerone, and Granola all provide wonderful entertainment, it is also worth traveling to some of the other local towns and areas.
Lucca (1.5 hours away) is a beautiful walled city with wonderful music festivals, including contemporary, jazz, and opera, over the summer months. Pass a relaxing evening eating at Buca San Antonio (a restaurant dating back to the 1400s) and then enjoy a post-dinner drink listening to opera or watching the Tango under the stars.
Pietra Santa, the city made famous by its sculptors and wonderful stone is a mere 45 minutes away. Enjoy a beautiful beach day at nearby Forte Dei Marmi, the crown jewel of the Tuscan coastline. Then, on your way home, stop for dinner and drinks and a little spot of shopping in Pietra Santa or enjoy a wonderful dinner in Portovenere.
