The country lanes leading to Brockhampton are winding and narrow, conveying a real sense of rural England and this tranquil village is much the same, offering a handful of traditional Cotswold stone houses and a friendly pub, serving good food, just across the road from Brockhampton Cottages.
These pale Cotswold stone cottages date from 1810 and offer a homely and welcoming place to stay. Both are filled with character and retain many of their original features including fabulous deep-set stone mullion windows and huge fireplaces in the living rooms. The well-equipped kitchens have everything you need for a self-catering stay, whilst across the two cottages, there are four comfortable bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which has a fabulous claw-foot bath, perfect for a lazy soak after a day of exploring. Each cottage has a dining room, and one of them has a large circular dining table that can seat eight guests, so you can all dine together.
To the front of Brockhampton Cottages lies a cottage garden with two tables, eight chairs and two charcoal barbecues. It's a lovely spot to sit with your morning coffee or an icy gin and tonic and just watch the world pass by. There are also three parking spaces between the two cottages.
*Dogs: 4 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost each. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog and we will then revise your booking confirmation. The pet fee is NOT included in your booking fee. A request for an additional fee per pet will be sent to you after you have placed your booking. Your pet fee must be paid for before your arrival date.
Tiesel Cottage
Ground Floor
Dining Room:
Guests enter Tiesel Cottage through the back door, which leads into the dining room, a light-filled extension at the rear of the cottage. The stone flooring runs throughout the cottage, perfectly in keeping with the style of the property. The dining room features a large, circular dining table, handy storage cupboard and a little nook suitable for use as a workstation if needed. The fridge-freezer can also be found in the dining room.
Entrance Hall:
The hallway runs from the dining room to the front door, the kitchen is on the left, as is the living room, whilst the stairs to the first floor are on the right, there is also a ground floor cloakroom by the front door.
Kitchen:
This modern, stylish kitchen is fitted with mid-grey cupboards and contrasting wooden work surfaces. It has everything practical for a self-catering holiday with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and a microwave. Listen to some holiday tunes on the Roberts radio and maybe try creating a new dish from the selection of cookery books on the windowsill. A large window looks out to the side of the cottage.
Living Room:
Light and airy, the living room is charmingly traditional, the huge fireplace takes centre stage complete with a cosy wood-burning stove. A comfy three-seater sofa and two armchairs flank a large wooden coffee table, perfectly placed for playing one of the numerous games provided or resting weary feet after days tramping the Cotswold hills. The large, original stone mullion window looks out to the front garden and is framed with stylish, heavy curtains.
Cloakroom:
By the front door, you'll find a ground floor cloakroom with a W.C, hand basin and coat hooks.
First Floor
The stairs to the first floor are original and therefore winding and steep, you might also notice the odd creek or two!
Bedroom One:
This spacious room boasts a king-size bed with nightstands and reading lights on either side. The cast iron fireplace (not in use) is a lovely, original feature as is the deep-set, stone mullion window overlooking the front of the cottage, offering views across the valley and surrounding hills. There are hooks with coat hangers in one corner (there's a hairdryer hanging in a bag here too) and an antique five-drawer chest of drawers for further storage, topped with a triple stand dressing table mirror.
Bedroom Two:
With a brass-framed double bed, this is a cosy bedroom overlooking the front garden. There are nightstands on either side of the bed and one reading lamp, wall hooks with coat hangers and there's also a vintage-style freestanding wooden towel rail.
Bathroom / Shower Room:
Enjoy indulgent, bubble-filled soaks in the freestanding, claw-foot bathtub, overhead is a rainfall showerhead. This spacious bathroom has a wood floor, twin hand basins with mirrors and a WC. The large window to the side lets in plenty of natural light, there are several shelves, and a heated towel rail keeps things toasty.
Outside
The cottages share a pretty front garden, which is separated by a newly planted parterre. There are two bistro-style tables and eight chairs, along with two charcoal barbecues, so you can relax and enjoy the sunshine listening to the birds singing in the trees. There are three parking spaces between the two cottages.

Entrance Hall/Dining Hall:
The front door leads into the entrance hall which also doubles as a dining area. The stone floor runs throughout leading to the kitchen and utility at the rear. To one side is a dark wooden dining table for four with a feature ceiling pendant overhead.
Living Room:
Overlooking the front of the cottage, the traditionally styled, warm, and welcoming living room features a huge fireplace with a wood-burning stove, flanked by two comfortable sofas which sit on either side of the coffee table. Victorian-style artwork hangs on the walls and there's a wall-mounted TV in one corner. On the bookshelf beneath the TV, there's a selection of board games to enjoy, and throughout the house, guests will find plenty of reading material including novels, cookery books and interior design and gardening reference books.
Utility Room:
This handy space houses the fridge freezer and washing machine. There's also a long breakfast bar, with two stools which would also make a useful workstation if needed.
Cloakroom:
At the rear of the utility room, guests will find a ground floor cloakroom with a W.C.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is well-equipped and features cream, country-style cupboards, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, and a dishwasher. There is a window to the side, a roof light, and a backdoor to the small courtyard at the rear of the cottage.First Floor
The stairs to the first floor are quite steep and winding and don't be alarmed if they creak occasionally.
Bedroom One:
Overlooking the front garden through the original stone window, this king-size room is a lovely and spacious bedroom, filled with light. There's plenty of storage with two double built-in wardrobes, two tables stand on either side of the bed along with wall-mounted reading lights and there's an occasional table positioned beneath a wall mirror, perfect for use as a dressing table.
Bedroom Two:
This charming bedroom has a metal-framed double bed and is made up with soft white linens. The pretty bedspread reflects the botanical prints on the wall and there are two rattan bedside tables with reading lamps on either side of the bed. Wall hooks with coat hangers provide storage.
Bathroom / Shower Room:
The bathroom is generously sized with a p-shaped bath and a shower over, W.C and hand basin with built-in storage. There's a large window to the side letting in plenty of natural light and the heated towel rail keeps things warm and toasty.
