Casa Almendra is a stunningly rejuvenated beachfront property comprising of 4 bedrooms, surrounded by lush almond trees with an unbeatable view of the Colorados beach break. Located directly on the beach, this home offers effortless access to the renowned Colorados beach break and is just a short 15-minute walk from the Panga Drops surf break. The community beach club, pool, restaurant and bar are conveniently located just 50 yards (a 1-minute walk) away. The house underwent a full renovation in 2018, with no expense spared. The result is a luxurious property with high-end custom furniture, premium finishings, and a spacious, shaded pool featuring a shallow area perfect for children. The property also includes a second-story balcony that provides stunning views and a third-story star-gazing deck, ideal for those who love to spend their evenings marveling at the night sky. With modern amenities such as high-speed fiber optics internet (100mbps), Dishnetwork TV, and a propane BBQ grill, you can enjoy all the conveniences of home. Plus, the added reassurance of a backup generator that even powers AC units ensures that your stay is uninterrupted in the event of a power outage.
The house boasts a master bedroom upstairs with two twin beds that can be combined to make a king bed, a private bathroom, direct access to a large balcony, and unobstructed ocean views. Downstairs, there are three more bedrooms, each with two twin beds that can also be united to make a king bed. The Junior Suite has its own private bathroom, while the other two bedrooms share a bathroom. All rooms have air conditioning, including the living areas.
To ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible, there are three employees who work daily at the property: a full-time housekeeper, a night guard, and a pool cleaner/gardener.
The base rate is for up to 4 people and there is an additional per person cost for more than 4 people. The rates are listed below and please note that VRBO adds their own fee on top of these rates. This house sleeps a maximum of 8 people.

SURF BREAKS: Colorados is a fast, barreling beach break with many peaks and A frames. It is a challenging break and best for intermediate to expert surfers. Panga Drops is just a 10-15 minute walk up the beach and breaks on a horse-shoe shaped rock reef. This wave generally has a mellow take off and a more vertical and playful inside section. This break can be good for long boarders or short boarders. Panga Drops amplifies swells and is usually bigger but more forgiving than Colorados. At the very north end of the beach there is a point break, Los Perros Point, that needs a good swell with the right direction to break, but with the perfect combination it can provide very fun rights. We can also arrange boats to any of the 10+ surrounding breaks.
SAFETY: Hacienda Iguana is a very secure community with 2 sets of gates to enter, guards posted around the community, The security staff in place insures that you will feel very secure and comfortable to roam around the community and beach as you please. The security is just for piece of mind as the whole Tola region is very safe and you will find that the local Nicaraguan community is extremely humble, friendly and helpful.
ACTIVITIES: For those that don't surf there are plenty of other great adventures, activities and day trips you can enjoy. We can arrange surf trips by boat of fishing trips leaving from Iguana if you can swim or paddle out to the boat or out of Gigante if you prefer to load the boat from shore. Hacienda Iguana has it's own challenging 9 hole golf course. A round of golf (18 holes) with golf cart and clubs is only $45/person. On Tuesdays there is an organized afternoon golf scramble for guests and residents. There are some great hikes and beach walks in the area to get out and enjoy the amazing views, clean air, nature and wildlife viewing. Other available activities in the area include massage, yoga, fitness classes, surf trips by boat or taxi, surf lessons, fishing, horseback riding, snorkeling, kayaking, SUPing, hiking, golf cart rentals, bike rentals, moped rentals, moto rentals, sailboat tours, transportation and/or day trips to get a taste of culture in the surrounding cities or to go visit volcanoes, crater lakes and other natural attractions throughout southern Nicaragua.
MANAGEMENT: Our rental management company, Iguana Surf Rentals, is located in Hacienda Iguana and we are around and available for anything you might need and any to help with any questions or concerns you might have. We provide an info guide in the condo, with information on activities, hikes, day trip ideas, maps, a restaurant guide, local restaurant menus etc.
MEAL PACKAGE: Our meal packages offer you a personal chef whose services include purchasing of fresh food, meal preparation, cooking a delicious meal and cleanup. Breakfast options for you range from pancakes, banana pancakes, French toast, eggs, omelets, gallo pinto, hash browns, fresh fruit, tortillas and/or toast. Served with coffee and freshly made fruit juices. Lunch and dinner generally consist of a meat (chicken, fish, beef, pork, or lobster) with potato, rice and/or tostones alongside a salad and/or fresh veggies. Our chef can also prepare sandwiches, lasagna, tacos, burritos, pasta, hamburgers, BBQ or pizza, or a particular dish of your choice – just ask! If you choose to dine out at any of the local restaurants, we will gladly reimburse you we just ask that you please give us a 24-hour notice that you will not want a certain meal, so our chef does not over prepare.
Meal Packages are priced as follows:
• 3 meals a day for $45/person/day –includes non-alcoholic beverages and a snack basket
• 2 meals a day for $35/person/day –includes non-alcoholic beverages
• Only dinner for $18/person or $21/person for lobster or steak dinner – no drinks included

ATM: We now have a Banco La Fise ATM in the community that is located in the commercial area of Iguana, across from NSR surf shop and in between our office (Iguana Surf Rentals) and Everyday Nicaragua. There is also a BAC ATM located just outside of Iguana’s main gate in the Riviera Market (about 4 kilometers away) that is open from 6am to 12pm. The La Fise ATM inside Iguana is often out of money and doesn't take all cards so it is a good idea to stock up on cash in Rivas or go to the BAC ATM outside the gates on your way to Iguana.
Iguana’s Restaurant and Shopping Options: Within the community of Hacienda Iguana there are currently six restaurants. The restaurant at the beach club, Pili's Kitchen, serves healthy and delicious plates for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a great beach bar with happy hour specials. Iguana Brewery is just across from Scoops and serves its locally made craft beers in addition to a full bar, and doubles as a complete restaurant with breakfast starting at 6am, lunch, and dinner. Scoops is an artisan ice cream, coffee, juice, and panini shop. Downtown Iguana is a restaurant with local Nicaraguan cuisine, open for lunch and dinner, and located in the commercial area below Casa Ananas and next to NSR. Casa Ananas, located above NSR, is open for dinner with delicious and authentic Italian pizza, pasta and more. Finally, the newest restaurant is The Salty Koala, which is in the La Joya commercial area and serves Asian cuisine. All these restaurants except for Pili's Kitchen at the Beach Club and The Salty Koala are located in Iguana’s growing commercial center where you will also find a La Fise ATM, NSR Surf Shop, Stop and Go Surf Market (groceries), Rios Market (groceries), Iguana Farmacy and First Response Clinic and our office, Iguana Surf Rentals and Real Estate. La Joya Commercial area has Pure Spa and Las Rocas Surf Shop/Boutique store.
GOLF CART RENTALS: We can provide you with a golf cart to easily get around the community during your stay. The cost is $40/day and $240/week for a 4p cart or $60 day and $360/week for a 6p cart. The golf carts are not allowed outside of the community except to go to the preschool just outside the gates.
