About this space
La Casita de la Huerta is the perfect place to disconnect and have a wonderful holiday with family and friends. The house is located on an ecological farm in Las Barreras, just a 15 minute drive from Órgiva. We would like to welcome you to stay with us to discover this beautiful place surrounded by nature with it's tranquility and nurturing effect, with spectacular views of Órgiva and the valley of the Rio Guadalfeo.
The space
Our two-story luxury home features six comfortable beds (one double and four singles), making it perfect for families or groups of friends. On the ground floor, you'll find a spacious living room complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook up a feast with local ingredients. There are also two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a single bed, as well as a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and comfortable bathtub. A separate linen closet is available to store bedding.
Upstairs, you'll find a large salon that can double as a bedroom with two additional beds if needed, along with another single bedroom and a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Two spacious rooftop terraces offer breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountain peaks or the starry night sky.
Guest access
The property has a large 50m² swimming pool, which is open during the summer months. It's the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the Andalusian sunshine. The pool is shared with the caretakers who live in the other house on the property, and it's closely monitored to ensure it's always in excellent condition.
In addition, there's fast internet (70MB/s up/down) and WiFi throughout and around the house, so you can stay connected if you need to.
If you're staying during the colder months, you can purchase firewood separately for the wood-burning fireplace. A wheelbarrow full of firewood can be provided for €20, or you can order bigger quantities locally for a cheaper price.
We also have a small vegetable garden next to the house, where you can pick and enjoy some seasonal vegetables during your stay. And be sure to take a walk around the farm to fully appreciate the incredible views and discover every corner.
Other things to note
Our property is connected to the centuries-old irrigation system of 'acequias'. We use the acequia every two weeks to sustain the local crops and vegetation with water from the melting snow on the Sierra Nevada peaks. Witness the importance of water in this region and how it shapes the local culture and way of life during your stay.
Our property is conveniently accessible from both Granada and Malaga airports, with several transportation options available, including bus, taxi, or rental cars. The scenic journey to our property will give you a taste of the stunning Andalusian countryside.
Additionally, we're happy to inform you that we allow dogs at our property for an extra cost. You can enjoy your vacation with your furry friend by your side!
We also offer longer-term stays at a reduced fare outside of high season, so you can fully immerse yourself in the tranquility of the Alpujarra.
