Our Chalet in Quincy is a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Gable Style A-Frame home on a .38 of an acre on a paved street in the area known as Greenhorn. Population 236. You might just see the guests from the Greenhorn Ranch, taking off on a morning horseback ride into the Plumas National Forest.
Our Chalet is perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or a place to bring the whole family and enjoy the outdoors. It takes you back to nature, as you enjoy the serenity of the forest that surrounds you.
Where we live in Greenhorn where there are many hiking trails for you to explore. 12 Miles to the west is the quant small town of Quincy that has a disc golf course and the Plumas County Museum. 13 miles west southwest of Quincy is Bucks Lake. During the summer, you can enjoy swimming, fishing and hiking. During the winter there are snowmobile trails, sledding hills and cross-country skiing trails. 16 miles to the east is Graeagle. There are multiple golf courses and the Plumas Eureka State Park.
When you walk in the front door of the Chalet, you feel so relaxed. The view is all tinted windows to the top of the Gable style A-Frame that leads to a magnificent huge deck that you will enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the mornings, and many hours of enjoyment just sitting at the tables among the forest. We also have a Char-Broil 4-Burner Liquid Propane Gas Grill for any barbecuing. Nothings beats a good barbecue whether hamburgers & hot dogs, steak or fish. Just imagine corn on the cob barbecued to perfection. On the deck is also an old-fashioned barrel waterfall. The sound of the water cascading is so serene. At night you just might possibly see, 2-3 deer roaming through the property.
There are two bedrooms. One on the 1st floor and another on the 2nd floor. Each decorated with a theme in honor of our parents, to make you feel comfortable and at home. Great care has been taken with every aspect of decorating your bedrooms. The bedroom on the 2nd floor has a built in air conditioner plus a smaller television with Roku installed that streams media (shows, movies, and even music) from the internet to the TV.
There are two full bathrooms. One on the 1st floor and another on the 2nd. Ample towels, shampoos and conditioner have been provided for you.
There is a small room off the kitchen that has a GE Steam Washer and Dryer Combo for those small loads. Yes, you start it, and it does everything for you. Wash & dry.
Our Chalet has an open concept from the kitchen to a beautiful living and dining room. Decorated with a theme that you will see some unique painted designs and throw carpets. If you are someone who loves to read, we have a number of books just for you. Plus a portable Bluetooth Speaker to make your music sound amazing. A smart 55" big screen television with Roku's streaming channels is mounted on the wall as you watch from a comfortable sofa and captain's chair. We have included the Wi Fi internet for you. The dining room table is rather unique. It sits 6 but can be expanded. It is made of hard wood.
The main source of heat is a Toyotomi Laser 300 Heating Monitor that will heat the whole house. It is a direct vent heating system that provides the comfort and convenience of central heating in one small unit. It is temperature controlled. Also there is a wood burning fireplace.
The kitchen is well stocked with all the plates, silverware, glasses, cups, pots & pans, and gadgets you can think of. It has a refrigerator, electric 4 burner stove, microwave, crock pot, hand mixer & toaster. Plus a Keurig that not only makes you delicious hot coffee but also easy Iced coffee too. We will have a variety of Kcup coffees such as Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Pacific Bold for your drinking pleasure. Plus, creamers and sugar along with very decorative cups.
All wood flooring is on the 1st and 2nd floors. The stairs leading to the 2nd floor are carpeted. The bathrooms are tiled in a rustic design. As you reach the 2nd floor there is a bedroom to your left and a huge loft to your right.
The huge loft is a combination sleeping and kids’ area with a twin Daybed and Trundle. At the other end, a big screen television on an entertainment center. It is hooked up to a Play Station so the kids can play games or just watch movies. The television also has an Amazon Firestick installed to stream channels. We also have board games the whole family can play.
Lastly, we follow the Best Practices for cleaning to include all towels and bedding are washed in hot water. High touch surfaces are cleaned with disinfectant.
