Résumé: We enjoyed our stay at chateau Mariol despite the unfavourable weather. The apartment is very spacious and clean. Although we think there is too much furniture, it didn’t bother us. The owner, Lydia, was always helpful. The separate pool was lovely, a short walk through the garden away. So always think twice what you need. There are some pool toys, a toilet, and a ping pong table (including ball and bats). The pool is shared, but you hardly see anyone. In Mariol, there is not much to do. A walk around town or in the forest. The village has a bakery at a 5 min walk from the chateau. We visited a few villages in the neighbourhood and, of course, Vichy. We really enjoyed our trips to Clermont Ferrand. Worth the drive.
