Set in a Garden of Distinction which specialises in spring and autumn colour, what could be better than having a day admiring the stunning views and changing seasons, able to return to a dram by the blazing fire after a long and relaxing soak in a steaming bath?
This is one of the most unspoilt areas of the West Coast of Scotland, the mountains are so close you can almost touch them, and the sea is but a stone's throw away. The property is near Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, with climbing, sailing, skiing, hill walking, cycling, white water rafting to name but a few of the activities available. It is also within easy reach of the Isle of Mull and then on to Staffa or Iona, not far from Glenfinnan and the Harry Potter train or Mallaig and the Small isles. Glencoe is opposite, on the other side of Loch Linnhe and only twenty minutes away. All these places hold immense historical interest and amazing natural beauty.
Explore the West Highlands from Ard Daraich, a stones throw from the shores of Loch Linnhe and beautiful Glen Gour. Cross the Corran Ferry and discover a quieter pace of life where you can go to the most westerly point of the British mainland, picnic on white beaches and explore ruined castles. Sightings of Otters, Red Deer, Grey Seals, Golden and Sea Eagles are frequent with a resident Pine Marten in the garden.

If you too were taught to cook from the "fat pink book" the food bible of the '50's and '60's by Constance Spry, you will recognise a few of her recipes named after the house. She designed the flowers at the Queens coronation in 1953 and invented the ubiquitous dish Coronation Chicken.
We offer self-catering accommodation for four adults and one child in half the main house with full use of the garden. The owners live in the other half with separate access and so you are totally self contained.
The original 1909 croft cottage was extended in 1929. The larger, more formal rooms are offered as our second self catering option. Built loosely in the Rennie MacIntosh style as a gentrification of the original Edwardian cottage, these rooms still have many of the 1930s features including original fireplaces and Crittall windows. Ard Daraich Garden Apartment offers stylish, upmarket, comfortable accommodation in two kingsized bedrooms.
With a separate gate and path leading through the garden, the glazed front door gives lovely views to the planting beyond which is especially colourful in the Spring and Autumn. There is a large drawing room on the right with hearth and wood burner, comfortable seating, antique furniture, family portraits and a television. To the left is a kitchen and dining room. Upstairs, through selves of books, are two large bedrooms, both king size, one with huge Tudor four poster bed from Kenilworth Castle (given to Norrie’s mother as a twenty first birthday present) the other, the Italian Room, decorated with a fine painting of Umbrian landscape, Italian furnishings, strangely, a Norwegian bed and stunning views of the garden. The bathroom has wood lined walls and the original free standing bath, the perfect length for relaxing and looking at the garden in peace.
