The Cross Creek Farmhouse is an open-air “glamping” Florida Cracker lifestyle barn/venue located on #2 ranked bass fishing lake in the State of Florida, Orange Lake. It has a full kitchen with a 1934 Koehler farmhouse sink, barn wood cabinets and custom made lighting. The Loft has a twin Cowboy bed and Queen air mattress on a platform frame. The master bedroom has a Sassafrass king size bed and is located downstairs. It’s surrounded by rusted metal tin and rough cut pine and has a crystal chandelier hanging over the bed and galvanized bucket lights accenting the windows. The master bedroom overlooks the open room. The main area is a large open area with a twig fairy chandelier, crystal chandliers, Edison lights and huge sliding barn doors on 3 sides. Leather sofa, leather chairs and ottomans, TV and DVD player and a Victorian sofa sitting area for reading. A custom Cedar desk and bench for a designated work area is also in the open room. There’s 2 full restrooms with metal tin showers, custom lighting, farmhouse sink, bucket sink set in custom barn wood cabinets and each has a sitting area next to the shower. There’s a boudoir/sitting room/library with vintage farmhouse style windows and antique decor. This room is reserved for events and weddings. There’s a covered front, back and side porch. The side porch is perfect for porch sitting and has a picnic table. Watch the sunset views of Orange Lake. You’ll overlook the lush, shaded pasture with Cracker Cattle, donkeys, horse and mini ponies. You can also see deer and eagles.
IMPORTANT: Your stay is for The Farmhouse and the area immediately around the barn. Guests are NOT allowed around the main or areas surrounding the house and are NOT allowed to enter the gated areas of pasture. Cracker Cattle and donkeys are protective. Children cannot be left unattended during your stay. The Farmhouse is decorated with antiques and these are for decoration purposes only. Please do not allow your children to play with them. Galvanized fire ring- A small is fire permitted with adult supervision only and must NOT be left unattended. Fire must be out prior to leaving or bedtime. No candles, fireworks, smoking or drugs on premises. Orange Lake is a sportsman’s lake. It is inhabited by alligators and snakes. Please make sure to watch where you step because this is their habitat. The lake has a marsh edge and there is no access allowed from our property except by airboat. The public boat ramp is less than 1 mile away and is free to the public. Please keep in mind this is Florida and we have mosquitos. We recommend you bring the bug spray of your choice. Thermacell repellants are also a great choice. We do not allow citronella candles as they are a fire hazard. We highly recommend you keep the barn doors closed if you leave. Treat it as you would your own home or you may have bugs and critters inside. This is open-air! No a/c. We do have portable fans. The Loft gets very hot in the summertime. You will see bugs/insects. Consider it glamping and a very unique farmhouse barn stay.
