2nd floor apartment that is the closest STR to downtown, 1 block walk east/south to most of all the fun, restaurants, bars McHenry has to offer. We are 1 block from the Riverwalk & that is by walking through beautiful Veterans Park! We are walking distance or a few minutes drive from everything McHenry has to offer. Excellent restaurants, taverns, parks, shops, boutiques & a huge variety of things to do like glass blowing classes art classes, etc.
Smoking outside only. 4:20 only allowed in backyard & not in view of under the age of 21.
1000 sq.ft. apartment is cozy, with a full functioning kitchen, games, toys & extra amenities to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. If you don’t see what you need please ask & I’ll do my best to accommodate.
❤️of the Fox River, flowing from the 15 navigable lakes, 400+miles of the Chain Of Lakes to enjoy. Marinas minutes away for docking or free launching @ Chain of Lakes State Park. Many kayaking launch areas are minutes away.
NO PETS ALLOWED. We have 1 kid friendly dog Bella.
THE SPACE:
Built in 1905 with the second floor apartment built in the 1957 with a very comfortable, open & spacious 1000 sq.ft. of living space. If you looking for modern splashy we are not it.
Baseboard heating and seasonal air-conditioning keeps you comfortable all year.
We allow full access to fully fenced back yard with propane fire-pit, grilling & outdoor door games, easy access to chairs cushions. We have our dog Bella who is a very loving, child friendly dog though if you are enjoying the back yard we will definitely keep her away.
Give me a heads up if you use the backyard so privacy in ensured.
LOCATION:
Veterans Park across the street with a gazebo, playground, picnic shelter & clean restrooms.
Fox River Walk 1 block away is soon to be fully completed with the to be start just on the other side of the park from us! The shops are Riverwalk are open Friday, Saturdays & Sundays.
Minutes drive to 2 beautiful state parks to hike through. McHenry Damn is a sight to see. Great fishing there too. Chain of Lakes State Park, an 11 minute drive has horse back riding (seasonal) and beautiful trails
Other things to note
(Still under some construction) The River Walk is 2 blocks away that takes you to Miller Point Park along the Fox River & Boone Creek. Globe Lighting, music & fireworks every Saturday evening during summer through late fall. Boutique stores along walk from books to bread & everything in between.
Veterans Park across the street from apartment & on every Thursday evening offers a Farmers Market, food trucks, vendors peddling their creations & musical outdoor entertainment through out the summer season.(weather permitting)
30 minutes to Lake Geneva
40 mins. to Woodfield Mall
1 hour to Chicago ( plus easy access train to get there) Train to downtown Chicago, 1/2 mi to McHenry station (free parking) or mins. to Pingree Station, CL for better service hours.
1 hour to Milwaukee Wisconsin
1 hour drive to Rockford, IL. Beautiful riverfront walking, Japanese & botanical garden plus what I think is the BEST Children’s museum.
There are so many seasonal activities throughout the year in town. I keep a calendar on the fridge & McHenry Guidebook plus other helpful aides to guide you to different happenings around. FB McHenry in search to find pages that will inform you of what is happening in town from concerts at the Vixen to what is happening about town. Easy walk to just about everything.
