Esk View Retreat is an exquisite and romantic cottage studio with the most amazing views over the Esk Valley and the North York Moors National Park. If you're looking for a cosy place for a romantic break for two, where you can explore the countryside and the coast, it's perfect. Enjoy the peace and quiet of your surroundings, relax on your private terrace and take leisurely strolls to the local pub, just 5 minutes away. Meanwhile, the town of Whitby is only a short drive away and makes a great day out on the coast. To make you feel at home from the moment you arrive at the cottage, you'll be greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread (a complimentary loaf is provided) so you can settle into country life straight away.
The space
The cottage's accommodation is set out over one floor and features sumptuous soft furnishings and quality furniture, plus there's underfloor heating throughout.
At the heart of the home is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room, which is a fantastic place to relax, snuggle up in front of the log burner and admire the views through the French doors.
The kitchen area with its granite worktops, kitchen island and Wedgwood crockery, is equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, and a dishwasher. Plus, there's a separate laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
There's also an oak dining table where you can enjoy a romantic meal. Or step outside onto the balcony, equipped with a table and chairs and outdoor sofa, for lunch alfresco or a glass of something chilled as you marvel at the stunning views. Wildlife, including deer and partridges can often be seen too.
With a music system accessed via the iPad with complimentary Apple music, WiFi, a Smart TV with Netflix and a DVD and book library, there's plenty to keep you entertained.
There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and a luxury bathroom with a bath, separate shower, heated towel rail and Elemis toiletries.
You'll also find a host of thoughtful touches including umbrellas, binoculars and torches that you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
Need more room? Esk View Retreat can be interlinked with Esk View to sleep up to 8 guests. Or all five cottages at the site (there's Primrose Cottage, Primrose Retreat and Dolly's Cottage too) can be booked to sleep up to 14 guests – ideal for wedding parties and large family get togethers.
