2h40 from Paris between Laval and Le Mans, a unique experience awaits you in this small fortified medieval town, an 11th century stronghold, an unmissable tourist spot, located on the road to Brittany and not far from Normandy.
You will be charmed by this small village and its inhabitants. Take the time to roam the city, its picturesque streets, discover its castle and its keep, the “path of the postern” and its breathtaking view, the charming hamlet of the river and its old water mills.
Your gîte, “Le Lys des champs”, is a building that has kept all its authentic character. Built in exposed stone, typical of the region, this house was formerly that of the “wheelwright” (specialist in wood and metal, he made various tanks, vehicles, wheels...).
Completely renovated, the house has retained its small period bread oven (which is no longer functional), and the wheelwright's workshop (not accessible) is still in the garden.
Decorated and furnished with care, chic country style, “Le Lys des Champs” welcomes you for warm family holidays. Everything is done for your comfort: for an autumn / winter cocooning by the fire, or for a spring / summer lazing on the terrace.
You will discover on entering a bright living room of more than 40 m2 with its pleasant, open, fully equipped kitchen. A small internet corner or coffee break, as you wish. The living room area with a comfortable and convertible sofa, armchair, and wood stove. A small room completes this ground floor with WC, sink and laundry room.
Upstairs, the "shabby chic" landing welcomes you with its small desk, its library corner, and its "girly" bench. It serves 2 bedrooms; one with 1 double bed of 160x200 and the other can accommodate 2 people either in a double bed 160x200 or in 2 beds of 80x200 to be defined before your arrival. These 3 very bright rooms have a view of the Erve valley in the distance. A beautiful cozy bathroom with a window completes the floor (toilet, sink, shower). The beds are made on arrival. Bathroom linen optional (5€/pers).
Baby equipment: baby chair, travel cot, changing mat. Wifi and television available.
You will have a small enclosed garden, indoor parking, a small west-facing terrace and a larger south-facing terrace. Garden furniture, griddle available in fine weather.
Heating: electric radiators with inertia and wood stove. A wooden chest included, 10 euros for the additional wooden chest. Electricity on meter reading to be paid to the owner at the end of the stay.
Telecommuting: 1 office space upstairs and a small raised office on the ground floor in the living space, RJ45 socket.
From the cottage, a small path gives you access to the medieval city surrounded by ramparts. (400m/6 mins, on foot).
