If staying in, be surrounded by whimsical comforts and treats or be entertained by our friendly Australian Miniature Goats. Prepare to be enchanted... Our cosy cottage welcomes tired travelers or those in need of a private get away. Hear the dawn chorus as you wake and ponder your plans for the day. Watch the baby goats and lambs frolic whilst you sip your coffee. Feel cosy and warm as rain rolls in across the hillside. Pack a picnic, hike a mountain, explore the rock pools in town at low tide, roll a dice, play a card or simply watch films in bed, it's all yours for the taking. But before you call it a night, don't miss your chance to view the Milky Way like you've never seen it before. Hideaway Farmlet is ready for you to unwind, put your feet up and settle in. In your cottage, enjoy a pillow-top, double bed mattress with luxe bedding, extra blankets and a hot water bottle. Be comfortable in all weather with a split air conditioner for heating or cooling. The small dining table can be extended to double as a work space. The tv is on a trolley cabinet with remote so you can position it for maximum relaxation in bed if you choose. We provide a DVD player including some movies and popcorn. If you changed your mind on dessert when you dined out, we've got you covered. Enjoy access to WiFi, games, puzzles, books, private shower and toilet. Kitchen/cooking facilities are limited so consider the cottage a glorified hotel room designed for honoured guests. We have a microwave convection oven for cooking/reheating, a toaster and sandwich maker, kettle, fridge/freezer and crockery. We provide a basic breakfast for our guests which includes coffee, various teas, local full cream milk, freshly baked local sourdough bread, juice, cereals and fruit. Any available produce in harvest will be provided to guests to sample. Our seasonal preserves are also available to purchase along with some craft our family enjoys to make. The Hideaway Farmlet is central to all popular tourist destinations in the North-West of Tasmania. Stay as long as you can afford to, most of our guests wish they stayed at least 2 nights. Be able to complete all your day trips whether it's Stanley to the far West (1hr 20min), Cradle Mountain to the South (1hr 10min), Launceston to the East (1hr 20min) or all the beautiful and unique towns in-between all under an hour's drive. The cottage is described by previous guests as a delightful, cosy, warm haven with lots of character... we can't wait to welcome you to the Farmlet! You have access to a fenced off area behind the cottage where you can enjoy views of the front paddocks and watch how our farm animals spend their day. Our family of Australian Miniature Goats will love to come up to the fence to say hi. Our chooks with no borders will roam where they wish. Our ram Moss, and his lady friends, keep the farmlet secure in the paddocks. Our Beagles are always ready to greet you in their hound-dog way and in return would love to receive a pat. Outdoor chairs and natural logs are provided for you to enjoy your surroundings. If you would like to explore the property further please ask us during your stay. Our local Hiscutt Park has public access to undercover barbecues, picnic facilities and public toilets. This could be an option for you to cook and dine in a beautiful setting by Penguin Creek and Bass Strait across the road. You'll also enjoy the opportunity to see interesting wildlife that call this park home. We are located on a rural block close to Bass Hwy. Usual traffic noise is to be expected however you get to experience all the environmental benefits of living on the outskirts of town. The train passing through the main precinct at night is but a quaint toot in the air. By day, lots of wild birds frequent our property and by night, plenty of Tasmanian Pademelons, Wallabies, Possums, Potteroos and Rabbits visit our gardens from both up the driveway and from our bush reserve.
