Gum Leaf Cabin is ready to welcome you to enjoy everything the beautiful Sunshine Coast and the hinterland has to offer with absolute comfort. This charming two bedroom cabin has everything you need to make yourself at home. We can't wait to welcome you to our little corner of the world, where cows are your neighbours, but you're a hop and a skip from all the coastal and country highlights of this iconic region.
The space
Located an hour north of Brisbane, Eudlo is an idyllic town with a country feel. A twenty minute drive will find you deep in the beautiful hills of Maleny and Montville or stretched out on the sand at Mooloolaba or Maroochydore- it really is central to everything the Sunshine Coast has to offer. If some R&R is what's needed, a glass of wine with a book on the deck will have you sorted.
Warm and welcoming, the cabin has been recently renovated and includes all the comforts you would need to have a relaxing stay including linen sheets, plush cotton towels, Nespresso coffee and an assortment of teas. Minimal waste and low environmental impact have been considered, with composting and recycling available. The bathroom has a composting toilet that is super clean and easy to use. The kitchen is well equipped with kettle, toaster, mini-fridge, microwave, portable electric cooktop and benchtop oven. There is a BBQ on the deck.
Guest access
Accessed by our main driveway, Gum Leaf Cabin is located on our property directly next to our main residence. Both dwellings overlook the dam, so it isn't secluded. We respect your privacy and appreciate ours, so we will give you space to enjoy your stay. Of course if you need anything at all, just reach out.
Eudlo is home to many wild and wonderful animals. We have horses for neighbours on one side and cows the other. There is a neighbourhood rooster, a chorus of frogs as well as all the not so popular creatures near by. The cabin is fully screened and we have repellent spray and coils to burn, so they will all leave you alone. However the rural tranquility comes with a soundtrack full of nature.
We also have a beautiful-natured dog, Molly, who may like to come and say hello. If you're not comfortable with this, just let us know and we'll make sure she stays at the main house with us.
Please note that on Tuesdays during school terms we host a nature-based day program from 8:30 to 3:30. This can mean extra noise through the day and cars coming and going at start and finish times. We will do all we can to ensure as little impact on your stay as possible. This takes place at the front of our property, separate to the cabin. Please take this into consideration if booking a stay that falls over a Tuesday, during term.
The cabin has good, free wifi, suitable for general use, but not for gaming or heavy downloads. Phone reception can be patchy depending on your carrier.
We provide kindling and wood for a small fire. If you'd like to kick on, please BYO firewood.
Getting around
Eudlo is a quaint and peaceful town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It is the land of the Gubbi Gubbi people and we are grateful to care for and raise our family here. Eudlo means "fresh water eel" in the language of the traditional land owners.
Central to Eudlo's community is the community hall, which plays host to some incredible performers throughout the year. A primary school, post office, rural fire station, two cafes, brow salon and a beautiful community garden round out Eudlo's offerings.
The property is a ten minute walk to Eudlo train station. You can catch the Nambour line from Brisbane. If you're wishing to venture further afield than our little township of Eudlo, a car is required.
