Looking for an ideal family cottage, for family holiday near Penzance, West Cornwall? This peaceful Victorian mid-terraced cottage is the perfect choice. Located in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Penzance it is easy to explore the whole area, and there is much to explore! For a full day of adventure, you can head in any direction and within a short drive you can find yourself either on the rugged Lands’ End peninsular, visiting the Minack Theatre; or in magical St Ives visiting the Barbara Hepworth museum and sculpture garden, or Tate St Ives. Head to the quiet estuaries around Falmouth and Helford or hike the stunning southwest coastal path between Penzance and Porthleven. Mix in, relaxing days, wandering around the historic streets of Penzance, along the promenade towards Newlyn, or a stroll around Penlee Park and Morrab Gardens, then a glorious swim at The Jubilee Pool; or head across the causeway to visit magical St Micheal’s Mount, at nearby Marazion.
There are plenty of choices for a family beach day, the nearest beach is Longrock (walkable) which is also dog friendly all year round; or a short drive brings you to Marazion or Perranuthnoe beaches. Within 30 minutes you can be at any number of fabulous family friendly, sandy beaches, including Sennen, Porthcurno, Carbis Bay, Gwenver (& the 3 miles of sandy beaches around Hayle) or Praa Sands. Try your hand at surfing, paddleboarding or body boarding; or simply relax with a good book.
Returning home in the evening, you have plenty of choices, cook up a family dinner in the well-equipped kitchen, grab a take-away and enjoy star gazing in the private garden or wander up the road to the local pub or into Penzance for a range of lovely restaurants. Accommodation Description
A short walk from the private parking space, you will find a small front garden and the private entrance to the cottage. There is a small entrance hallway with space for shoes, boots and hanging coats, leading into a bright and spacious sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating, a wood burner, built in cupboards housing a selection of games and local information. There is a large TV with Sky channels, a DVD player and wifi broadband. The sitting room leads into a beautifully presented kitchen with dining area to the left and kitchen area to the right. The kitchen is fully equipped with slimline dishwasher, single oven with electric induction hob, large fridge with small freezer compartment. To the back of the dining area are doors leading out to the small east facing private patio area, suitable for a BBQ after a long day on the beach!
The staircase leads up past a large, bright family bathroom; with large power shower enclosure, a separate small bath (ideal for bathing children!), double sink, WC and cupboard housing washing machine. The master bedroom is at the front of the house with large windows with views over the village and out to the fields beyond, white metal king size bed and plenty of storage space. There is a second twin bedroom with two single metal framed beds and storage space.
To the front of the property is a small front garden with bench, established flower bed and lovely pots. There is also a separate, private garden opposite the house with parking space in front. The garden is gravelled with flowerbeds and a raised decked area, ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine after a busy day’s exploring! The area is residential and very safe for children to play whilst you relax in the garden, making it the ideal family cottage for your Penzance based holiday.
Please note that in 2024 there is a development of houses being built in the field behind the house. The impact on the house is minimal but there will be some construction noise audible if sitting outside or with the windows open during working hours. The construction site is only visible from the twin bedroom.

The house is fully cleaned before your arrival and all bed linen, towels and beach towels are provided within the price. Wifi & large TV with Sky channels.
There is a small terrace at the back, a small front garden and a separate garden opposite the cottage, with one allocated parking space at the end. The summer house pictured is not accessible for guests. This beautiful family cottage is dog friendly all year round, within walking distance is Long Rock beach, Penzance which is dog friendly all year round.
