Le Pommier is a delightfully converted hay barn offering premium quality accommodation for 6, in one king, one double and one twin bedroom. The large open plan first floor living area offers fantastic southerly views over the Charente countryside from the adjoining balcony.
Lots to do on site with large heated pool to relax by in the summer months or a perfect place to explore local attractions and activities, with water sports and beach at the nearby lake, the nearby Tree-Top Advenure Park & Karting, La Rochefoucauld town with its own Château and so much more!
Le Pommier features a large 13m x 6m heated pool (available June to September) with a shallow end depth, ideal for children, as well as a gym and sauna. The large summer terrace, overlooking the pool, provides a welcome shaded area to dine al fresco or just to relax in the hammock with a book. It is the ideal place to relax whilst still being able to supervise the children having fun in the pool.
The dedicated table tennis area is nearby and the recently installed petanque (boules) piste and croquet lawn are also conveniently positioned, close to the gite.
Situated just outside the quiet little hamlet of Le Lindois, Le Pommier is in a great location and is served by excellent restaurants and there are plenty of other interesting activities to keep everyone happy.
The quaint market town of la Rochefoucauld is just 10 minutes’ drive away and the historic city of Angouleme, the capital of the Charente, just 15 minutes further afield.
Kitchen and dining
The first floor of Le Pommier is one large living space, with exposed beams, vaulted ceiling and some exposed stone walls. At one end is the kitchen/dining area and at the other, the main living space. The well equipped kitchen has modern appliances including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, Tassimo coffee-machine and the large dining table seats 6 comfortably. French doors lead from the kitchen onto the south facing balcony.
Living rooms
The first floor living room has ample seating for 6 plus, large flat screen HD TV (receiving all UK Freesat channels), Amazon Firestick, Google Streamer, DVD player, modern Samsung Bluetooth Speaker. There are external French doors from both the kitchen and the living area onto the south facing balcony with views over the garden and open countryside beyond. A supply of board games, books and a comprehensive selection of DVDs suitable for all age groups are available.
Bedrooms
The 3 bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, which makes them cool in the heat of summer. The master king size bedroom has an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, w.c. and wash hand-basin. The twin bedroom is situated between the master and the third bedroom, which is a double and it is situated directly opposite the family bathroom. Two full size cots and one travel cot are available as well as highchairs, changing mats and other baby/toddler items.
Bathrooms
The master bedroom has an en suite shower room with walk-in shower, wash-hand basin and toilet whilst the family bathroom, which is also on the ground floor, directly opposite the double bedroom, and has a wc, wash-hand basin, bath and separate shower.
Heating
In the event that heating is required, there is a log burner in the first floor living area and electric heaters on the ground floor.
Entertainment
UK Freesat HD TV, Amazon Firestick, Google Streamer, DVD player, modern Samsung Bluetooth Speaker. Children's dvds, board games and books are available.
Garden and outside
The large garden is mostly laid to grass, with volleyball/badminton net, petanque (boules) court, croquet lawn, football mini-goals, a 14ft trampoline (with safety net), and a cornilleau table tennis table (with overhead shade) are provided. Racquets, bats/balls, boules, croquet equipment etc. are all provided.
The large (13 x 6m) heated swimming pool has sun loungers and parasols and the summer terrace provides a shady area overlooking the pool so children can be supervised whilst enjoying themselves in the pool. The summer terrace is equipped with a sofa, hammock, table football, dart board, Giant Connect 4, Jumbo Topple Bricks, American Fridge-Freezer, dining table and chairs and. Dedicated patio area under the balcony with table and chairs and gas bbq (gas provided).
Parking and garages
Ample parking is available adjacent to the gite and additional under cover parking may be available on request.
Visitor suitability
Suitable for all visitors although persons with restricted mobility may find the fact that the living area is on the first floor a slight inconvenience. No smoking allowed inside the property!

A well equipped gym is available to all guests at no extra charge. However an additional charge is levied for use of the 4 person sauna.
