Résumé: This was our most anticipated stay of our 10 night trip, and our last stay of the trip, but unfortunately found it to be disappointing especially for the price in comparison to our other stays. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very kind gentleman, but unfortunately, he did not speak English, and we do not speak Spanish so communication was a bit of a barrier. When we first entered the place it looked amazing initially, and we saw macaws fly right out by the front porch. Dark settled in quickly and there was really no instructions for the home and there were multiple gates and a set of keys. We initially could not figure out how to work the stove either, and still couldn’t figure out how to work part of it. I highly recommend some sort of tutorial or manual for this home with common questions answered. The pool while very beautiful in the pictures, is also somewhat beautiful at the home, however, it is quite chilly despite very hot days, and apparently no way to heat it. It also seems like it is not cleaned very regularly, there are some very dirty areas of the tiles and it collects a lot of debris. Unfortunately a toad or some animal seems to poop on the middle entry steps nightly as well. There are many roaming dogs, I am not sure if these are wild dogs, or if they are someone’s dogs, but they roll into the art, despite the gates being closed. There’s one part of the house that does not have a gate and the dogs come through there and come right onto the patio and to the screen doors. One was very emaciated and looking for food. Another was a pack of 5 dogs. There were also roaming chickens, turkeys( and roosters. We did not see any monkeys. We did see the macaws and they seem to be closest to the house on the trees in front of the pool around 5-530 pm. They were quite a sight to see. The instructions to get to the house were spot on. It was a bumpy up hill gravel road. The drive did make us not want to leave very much. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms were fine, but not the most up-to-date or clean. Another place it seems like the tiles were not scrubbed very well or often. if you do not like bugs, avoid. They are quite a few hornets and a hornets seemingly above the pool. Refrigerator also had quite a smell to it. Lots of utensils, cookware, plates etc. We really wanted to love this place. The grounds were also unkempt and lackluster in comparison to other places we stayed.
