Imagine Graceland with a high end contemporary twist and you are getting close to Rosie O's. I have lovingly restored this place myself, from its 'shag carpeted', 'popcorned ceiling' roots and now want to share it with all. I have retained all of the original quirky 1977 features (including the indoor waterfall and intercom system) so you really feel like a guest at Elvis's new years eve party. Get ready to be transported to somewhere very special. Rumour has it that this place's original owner was actually Elvis's producer, who I think definitely took some inspiration from the jungle room. While giving a firm nod to the 70's, I have gently pulled this midcentury modern dream palace into the 21st century. Every piece in this home has a story to tell, and you will really get the feeling that, if these walls could talk...they would be doing so while holding a martini and dancing on a table.
I want you to feel completely at home and are invited to use, touch and play with all the things in the house. All the instruments are there to play, the records there to spin, the shot glasses to be filled. And while I invite you to kick your shoes off and make this place feel like your own, I just ask to to treat it with the same respect you would your own home. Everything means something to me so please do everything in your power to not break or take things home that aren't yours.
THE SPACE:
The main room is VAST (double height wood panelled ceilings) and is split into 2 halves - with a huge natural stone fire place in the middle that works like a dream.
To the left we have...
-THE BAR/MUSIC ROOM:
Make a cocktail, put on a record, get behind the drum kit or have a sing song around the piano. Let nights become days and memories be made.
To the right we have...
-THE LIVING SPACE:
Featuring huge C shaped sofa, where you can utilise the home cinema, bask in the glory of the exposed brick and indoor jungle. Or just close your eyes and enjoy the sound of running water from the rockery fountain.
The 8 foot sliding doors flood the space with natural light and slide into each other opening up the whole side of the room to the outside for that real indoor, outdoor dream feel. Sit on the sofa in the summer and listen to the crickets and watch the fire flies.
Off the living space we have
-THE DINING ROOM:
Featuring a 10 person round table for all your eating/food content needs. Panelled with beautiful honey wood- which makes any dinner party a luxury experience.
-THE KITCHEN - is a vintage dream in green. Live out your American sitcom fantasy's in the booth and enjoy the huge marble countertops that can support any culinary adventure.
-LAUNDRY ROOM -
Washer and drier with everything you'll need to use em. And don't forget to do some ironing on the fold out wall ironing board. Sewing machine available for use.
After climbing the two flights of stairs (past the famous 'hat wall') to the top floor you'll really start to understand the space. Balcony runs all the way along the length of the downstairs so it feels like a little hotel. So amazing for a group on vacation. You have your own private space but always feel connected.
-The FOUR THEMED BEDROOMS : Each room in the house has been made to have its own identity so each time you enter a new space you feel like you're entering a new immersive world.
Each bedroom has its own bathroom that have vintage features to die for like - walk in tub surrounded by nicotine glass mirrors and Stanley Kubrick style mid century space pod showers. They will all be fully stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, hairdryers. Master bedroom also has clippers (if someones feeling a change in style).
-OFFICE/ MINI STUDIO/ WRITING ROOM:
The perfect mini studio and office set up for someone that needs to do some work. Creative or non. Because Im a musician you will have the perfect set up for production (interface, Pro speakers etc) but the space also has what ever you might need for your various other office needs... printer, pinboards, pencils and a balcony to pop out and take a work call on.
This room also has a sofa bed (though I warn you, vintage, so not THE MOST comfortable). But can be made into bedroom number 5 for whoever draws the short straw.
OUTDOORS:
The outdoors area is 1.2 Acres of land to play with, I am surrounded by woodland with the creek of "whites creek" at the bottom (don't get too excited, very small). Then closer to the house a vintage pebble dash area houses two seating areas and an outdoor bar.
The front lawn is sprawling and vast.
Enough parking on the drive for 8 cars. And ample street parking if you need it.
