The estate has an organic certified olive grove. It is ideal also for children and pet dogs. There are 3 restaurants (tavernas) within walking distance.
THE ESTATE
The villa is within a very quiet, private and safe estate of 6,000 square meters, fully fenced and gated. Other than the discreet estate owner and his guests, who may or may not be present in another building, you will have the exclusive use of the estate. The estate has more than 100 olive trees which are officially certified as organic/Bio. Consequently, the vines and other plants such as rosemary, wild fennel and lavender are also organic. The estate has many gravel paths for walks and 4 stone terraces/patios. The estate has shaded parking for at least 2 cars. Practices promoting the sustainability of resources, include solar cells for heating water and the shredding of all wood branches instead of burning them.
ACCOMODATIONS
There is air conditioning and insect screens in all internal spaces. The property features pleasant amenities such as an iron, washing machine, AC, hair dryer, WiFi, and heating.
The DOROTHEA house sleeps 2 on an 160cm wide double bed with access to a disabled bathroom with shower, sleeps 2 on 2 single beds with access to the same disabled bathroom, sleeps 2 on a 140cm double bed with ensuite bathroom with shower and sleeps 2 on 2 single sofas in the living room. It has a full kitchen, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. In the living room there is a table and 8 chairs. It has a very low-ceiling attic for little children to play or to store luggage. It has its own patio under vine and olive tree pergola with sea view and 1 double hammock, 2 tables, 8 chairs and 4 sun loungers.
The NESTOR studio sleeps 2 on single beds, has a kitchenette, internal dining area and an ensuite bathroom with shower. It has its own patio under a vine, bougainvillea, and olive tree pergola with 1 table and 2 chairs.
The PENELOPE studio sleeps 3 on a 140cm double bed and 1 single bed. It has a kitchenette, internal dining area and an ensuite bathroom for disabled access with a shower. It has its own terrace with 1 table, 2 chairs, 2 sun loungers and 2 sun shades.
CHILDREN: The villa is ideal for children as the entire property is fenced and the pool itself is within an internal fence. For babies there is a crib with linen and a raised chair.
DOGS: Your dogs can run freely and play within the fenced property. Prior arrangement is necessary and the payment of a cash deposit of 500€ to the host/hostess to cover any damage, returnable at the end of the stay. A raised set of dog bowls is available.
THE SURROUNDINGS
From the property, it is only a 3 minutes walk to the nearest beach of Vrahinari. This sandy beach has a cozy beach bar and offers sun loungers and thatched parasols for hire. A rock formation separates Vrahinari from its sister beach, Vatsa. Thus you can get to Vatsa either by swimming from Vrahinari beach or by walking a short distance. Sandy Vatsa has several thatched parasols and flanks the estuary of the Vatsa stream, a popular hangout for ducks! It is a 10 minutes drive to the beaches of Xi and Megas Lakkos with tavernas, bars and watersports. Other beaches within a reasonable driving distance: include Petani, Atheras and Platia Ammos.
There are three restaurants (tavernas) within walking distance.
In the town of Lixouri there is a post office, banks, chemists, supermarkets, hairdressers, coffee shops, zaharoplasteia (pastry shops), tavernas and grillhouses. Sports/activities: There is a water amusement park nearby and around Lixouri a sailing school, horseback riding, and fishing day-excursions. From Argostoli there are day-trips with a glass boat, trips to the famous beach of Navagio at Zante, and so on.
HOST/HOSTESS
I am Vas, your host, and if I am not around a friend of mine will be your hostess. We speak at least English, German and Greek fluently. My second home is in the 3-story building within the property.
