It is a private, peaceful, 2-bedroom cottage with its own driveway, full kitchen, garden area/yard, and porch. It is one of only a handful of private residences near the top of Mt. Welcome. Lookout Cottage is minutes from Gallows Bay restaurants, coffee shop, grocery store, and pharmacy; and 10 minutes from downtown Christiansted and waterfront.

Mt. Welcome Lookout Cottage is quiet and private, but it's also very close (10 minutes) to the action and activities in Christiansted. It's even closer (5 minutes) to practical amenities like a grocery store, coffee shop, pharmacy, and several restaurants in the Gallows Bay area. Lookout Cottage is also centrally located on the Christiansted Bypass, making it easy to get anywhere on the island:
East End – Point Udall, Jack's and Isaac's Bay beaches (25 minutes)
North Shore – Cane Bay beach (25 minutes)
West Side – Fredriksted (35 minutes)
With a dedicated workspace, high-speed internet, washer/dryer, and fully equipped kitchen, the Lookout Cottage is also the perfect place for extended stays and remote teleworking (if you don't want to use up all your PTO during your trip!) Monthly discounts available.
The space
Because of its high vantage point, the Lookout Cottage offers unique views not found anywhere else on the island. You can see not only the azure waters of the north shore, but also Buck Island National Monument, Green Cay, Gallows Bay, and colorful neighborhoods tucked into the hills and valleys below.
The cottage has a bright, open floor plan. The bathroom and two bedrooms are newly remodeled, with quiet mini-split A/C units installed. Each bedroom features a queen bed, nightstands with lamps, and a large closet with storage space. Ocean views are visible from the living room/kitchen area, sunroom, and master bedroom. In the sunroom, there is a cozy seating area with a rattan daybed opposite a breakfast nook. The living room has a large, comfortable leather couch, large desk with office chair, and a smart TV that can also be used as a computer monitor.
Free parking is available on the property. Four-wheel drive vehicles are highly recommended for the mountain road.
Lookout Cottage is the perfect place to relax and take in the beauty of St. Croix from a unique perspective!
Guests have full access to the cottage, private driveway, and back yard. We ask that guests refrain from climbing the stone steps that lead to our own private residence.
We are one of only a few residential homes near the top of Mt. Welcome, which overlooks the Gallows Bay area of Christiansted. Don't be surprised if you encounter deer, mongoose, and iguanas. The back yard of the cottage also overlooks the local baseball field. Down below are several residential neighborhoods.
We recommend renting a vehicle while on the island. We have had great experiences with Olympic Rental Car agency.
