1 Chambre Maison dans Northeast Minneapolis Arts District, Minneapolis
Want to experience the vibrant Arts District of NE Minneapolis while staying in a triplex built in 1887? If so, this is the place for you. Come and stay at this newly renovated unit in the second story walkup. It is the perfect place to experience the creative atmosphere that the area has to offer.
The space
This is one of two renovated, spacious king bedroom units on the second floor of a historic brick triplex circa 1887. Each unit also has a pull out queen-size sofa bed located in the middle living space. Also, if you are needing even more space, there is an identical unit across the hall that can be rented if available. (Airbnb site NE Minneapolis Brick Beauty Unit 2) This Brick Beauty has certainly stood the test of time. The home still has the character of the late 1800’s, but with a modern, updated flare. My goal is to give you a unique experience that makes you enjoy both the home and the NE MPLS area.
Main area – The main area has a comfy queen sized sofa bed and chair for relaxation and TV watching.
Kitchen - Newly remodeled dine in kitchen has most everything you will need to enjoy meals at home. This unit has stainless appliances, including a microwave and a table with 4 chairs for dining.
Bedroom – The original pocket doors open to the cozy bedroom with a king size bed and a memory foam mattress. There is a sound machine, charger light and extra blankets for your comfort. There is ample closet space with hangers along with an iron and small iron board.
Workspace – There is a small desk, chair and lamp in the bedroom with wifi.
Bathroom – Tub/shower, towels, hair dryer, shampoo and soap supplied along with other toiletries you may need.
Deck/Porch/Backyard – There is a semi-private back covered porch on each unit just out the kitchen door. Relax and enjoy the mature trees that surround this area. The back yard is also shared with the owner Chad (and Marley the Golden Retriever – Marley apologizes in advance if he did not clean up immediately after himself….he is working on this task..haha). Please feel free to come and play with Marley, join Chad by the bonfire or just chill and enjoy the weather.
Heat/Cool – Minnesota can have a pretty big range of temperatures. The unit has been retrofitted with an individual central heat furnace that you control with your private thermostat and two window air conditioners for the summer months to keep the unit comfortable. The furnace can get a little noisy in the winter since it is right in the unit. You can close the bedroom doors at night to help mitigate any sound while sleeping. There are also ceiling fans and portable fans if desired.
Noise level - I am the owner/occupant living on the main level and rent the upper unit across the hall as a short-term rental. Since the house is almost 150 years old, it comes with its own unique acoustics. I have supplied sound machines in each bedroom for noise sensitive guests. I encourage quiet hours between 10 pm and 8 am to make sure you have a restful visit.
Smoking – This is a Nonsmoking Premise. This includes strong smell of smoke brought into the unit in clothes. This is for the respect of future guests that want to enjoy a smoke free experience.
Parking – There is ample free parking on 6th Street NE in front of the home.
Cleaning duties – No crazy list of things to do (that is what the $50 cleaning fee is for) the only request is to leave the unit similar to when you came by washing the dishes and tossing the garbage/recycle in the silver trash cans that are easily accessible on the back porch. That’s it!
Short term rental – The unit is travel nurse/healthcare worker friendly or for short term rental. Please contact me directly to discuss possible options/rates.
Guest access
24 hours access via keyless code pad on both main entrance front door and individual apartment unit doors. The individual code will be sent to you prior to arrival. This unit is on the 2nd floor of the home, so you will need to climb a full flight of stairs to the unit. If you need assistance with carrying luggage, please let me know and I would be happy to assist.
Other things to note
Getting around – Walking to the many local establishments is the BEST. However, if you want to really explore the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul renting a vehicle would work best. It is do-able with public transportation also, there is a bus line pick-up just two blocks from the location that will take you where you want to go. If going somewhere further than a brisk walk, an average ride share rate (depending on time of day/event) is between $10-$15 to downtown Minneapolis and $20 to St. Paul. There are usually bikes and scooters through providers like Uber Lime, etc. within walking distance to rent.
There are many parks/arts museums along the Mississippi Riverfront, the University of Minnesota, the trendy North Loop area of Minneapolis, and the amazing sports/entertainment venues (Target Field, US Bank Stadium, First Avenue, Guthrie Theater, Target Center) all located about 3 miles away. A dedicated bike/walk path that leads to the Mississippi River is just up a block and it meets up with the miles of bikeway system that Minneapolis is known for. Also, the cost to get to the house via ride share from the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport typically ranges from $25-30.
