Bywater Cottage 600 Louisa Street is a historic landmark leased by the month with a minimum 28-day rate. The original cottage was built directly after the Civil War from 1866 through 1868 when completed. The estate's One-bedroom guest suite and one bathroom comfortably sleep two adults and are the original parlor rooms for the purported brothel until 1892. The Guest suite's history can be seen in the elaborate cast iron mantels dated 1859 by the May Co. polished in baked porcelain finish. This Italianate Creole home boasts high ceilings with plaster medallions, crown moldings, magnificent brickwork, and fine furnishings. The original H.H. Slawson Plantations stables and carriage grounds are now our gardens and pavilion area for leisure outdoor time or a comfy remote work office. Your zoom colleagues will be jealous!
This Southern home includes all the modern comforts with updated appliances and amenities. Walk to the local Bywater venues (see links here) https://bywatercottages.com/bywater-neighborhood/ or be adventurous and head to the Faubourg Marigny or French Quarter. After a day of touring the city or walking the riverfront return to your guest home to allow yourself a shaded retreat in the courtyard or pavilion.
