Milsons Passage is an extraordinarily beautiful location and we have created Riverbreeze as a santuary for relaxing amid the wonderful views and ever changing colours of the river.
The 1930's cottage was lovingly restored in 2021 and showcases vintage curios and artwork collected by the owners. Some items have been with the house for decades and are dearly held curiosities. We have sourced lovely pieces from artisan makers, supporting local creatives to give the house a very special feel.
Riverbreeze offers luxurious appointments, spacious interiors and exquisitely furnished bedrooms.
BEDS AND BATH:
There are two large bedrooms with king sized beds - the River room and the Bush bedroom. Both feature amazing Microcloud bedding and 100% flax linen sheets.
There are ceiling fans in each bedroom for gentle cooling at night.
The bathroom has a deep claw footed bath with overhead shower featuring custom designed copper tapware. We supply luxe bath sheets for each guest and boutique bath products.
For longer stays, there is a washing machine but encourage short stays to wash at home. We are on tank water and water conservation is important at the cottage.
KTICHEN AND LIVING:
The Country style eat-in kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher, full hob and oven, microwave, slow cooker and lots of utensils and equipment to create a meal. The pantry has an array of staples including single origin coffee, loose leaf tea (make tea in our lovely silver teapot!), spreads, spices and sauces, Grounded Pleasures hot chocolate and some special treats! There's a selection of seasonal fresh herbs in the garden.
Delicious breakfast items are supplied during your stay including local yoghurt, stewed fruit and homemade muesli, but we ask that you bring your favourite bread.
Part of the fun is planning and creating memorable meals at Riverbreeze, you will need to bring with you everything you need for a special dinner or to keep it simple there is a BBQ on the deck with amazing river views perfect for alfresco meals.
The living room features a wood buring fire (we supply fire wood and kindling in the cooler months) and ceiling fan. Sink into the linen sofa and select your favourite streaming service on the wall mounted TV.
The sun filled closed-in verandah is perfect for lazy days reading a book, playing board games or listening to music via the bluetooth speaker. It also features a desk perfect for your 'work from anywhere' lifestyle.
Riverbreeze has ducted aircon/heating throughout.
PETS:
We are pet owners ourselves and know that it is great to take your pets on holidays. We do allow small well behaved dogs by arrangement - please contact us direct for more information before you book. The cottage is well fenced and dogs should be walked on a leash.
Our pet fee of $50 per stay includes lots of provisions to make your pups stay a good one - food and water bowls, a small pet bed, a sofa throw and comfy fleecies, and a towel if the weather is wet.
IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION:
Prices are based on 2 guests sharing a room and extra guests (to a max 4 guests) are charged at $50 per guest per night. If you require 2 singles please choose '3' persons on booking as that will account for the use of 2 bedrooms. All rooms come complete with bed linen and bath towels for each guest. Breakfast supplies included.
There is no charge for cleaning.
Riverbreeze has a strict NO PARTY policy. It is understood that you have come away to relax and unwind but sound carries on the river particularly at night. We ask that guests are respectful of our neighbours and the peace and serenty of the river community.
ARRIVING BY BOAT:
Milsons Passage is a water access only community on the lower Hawkesbury River. If you arrive by car, park at Deerubbun Reserve car park (free) just over the bridge, and arrange for Hawkesbury River Water Taxis to pick you up for the 7 min boat trip to the Milsons Passage public jetty. You will need to ring Neal to book this prior to arrival. (ask us for more information) Alternatively you can take the 1 hour train journey to Hawkesbury River Train Station (Brooklyn) and the water taxi can pick you up from there. Don't forget to book your return journey. Rates are $90 each way for a couple, $110 for 4 people. Please call the water taxi operator to confirm or hop onto their website for a quote.
If you come early on Day 1 - The Lifeboat Seafood at Brooklyn has a great menu of fresh fish for lunch, or pop along to the Hawkesbury River Oyster Shed where Deb and the crew can help you out with freshly shucked oysters in-house or take away and bring over to Riverbreeze to enjoy on the deck. Or enjoy lunch with a view at Estuary Restaurant at Kangaroo Point before your rendezvous with your water transport.
If arriving on a weekday, you might like to take the famous 'Riverboat Postman' to the public wharf. Please contact them for further details, and note that you will need to book ahead as it is a popular activity.
