When I saw the old farmer house surrounded by vineards for the first time with its cementine tile floors in many colors I was hit by the light this place emanates. The country house was renovated to allow the light of the surrounding nature to flood through. Any place you sit in the house, you will enjoy the brightness and colors of nature. Families with children will enjoy the pool, couples with friends the quiet place and the variety in nature and culture that the region offers.
There are 5 double bed bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a large living with open kitchen and studio with a single bed sofa. It was fully renovated in 2013 and beyond. In 2021 a separate garden house was built only 10m away from the main building to host another double bedroom with bathroom, ideal for people that like to sleep in the middle of the nature. The main house and the garden house feature all comforts you wish like air conditioner, full heating, fully furnished kitchen, inside and outside showers, selected furniture and accessories in a country house style. If you are up to 5 guests you will be granted a 12% discount.
The house is surrunded by a beautiful garden in the country side and the closest village is only 2km away. The beaches are 20 driving minutes away. Depending on the season you can enjoy the country side, walking or by bycicle, visit many historical centers of villages around and enjoy the seaside either on the Adria with the impressive coast from Otranto to Leuca or the ionian seaside with Gallipoli and the long sand beaches.
There is a 15 X 4 m infinity swimming pool surrounded by green lawn, palms and fruit trees and vineards and a cosy pergola where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.
You will have a large choice in gastronomy: from ancient country houses offering fresh vegetables and spices from their land to simple places at the seaside offering whatever that day the sea has brought to land. You have the choice and I will be happy to recommend a few places my international friends particularly loved. The same applies also to some special spots at the sea at the Adriatic coast that offer a more private atmosphere, cristaline water and some delicious local plates of pasta with seafood and vegetables.
I had many international friends visiting me and staying for a while at this place and could select some places they particularly liked that in part we visited with a local guide. For instance in Otranto obviously you will visit the church with the world famous mosaic floor but you will likely miss the ancient bycantine church with its marvellous frescos at the walls showing how greek orthodox, catholic and muslim visitors have passed and spent time in this Little church in the past centuries while Otranto was occupied by greeks, normanns and turks. In order to visit it from inside one has to find the man with the key. My guide is able to do that and more.
