Just a few mins by boat from Honey Harbour and you're at the cottage. You'll love all the smooth Canadian Shield rock and the small stand of windswept pine trees near the shore. Smaller kids will enjoy the shallow spot in front of the cottage with smooth rock and a little sand. The cottage features a good sized living area, a modern kitchen and dining room as well as an updated washroom. Durable laminate flooring was used thru out and the washroom is appointed with tile flooring. There are 3 bedrooms and the large master boasts French doors to the deck. The deck on the south side of the cottage is large and private and enjoys plenty of sunshine all day. weekend and weekly rentals begin on Saturdays - some weekend rentals may include Friday

Résumé: We enjoyed a wonderful week at Mary Helen's cottage on Georgian Bay in August 2019. The cottage itself is comfortable and clean -- not fancy -- which is reflected in the price. The master bedroom is a nice size with a queen bed, the bunkbed room has a double and single, and while the additional room states it has a queen, it actually has a double. We brought our own linens, comforters and pillows and there were a few extra pillows on site. There were ceiling fans in each of the rooms which was nice. Several of the household appliances didn't work when we were there, such as the washing machine, dishwasher and wine fridge, but the beer fridge in the covered porch was handy. Make sure to pack drinking water. We brought DVDs with us, and there are some board games and art supplies which were great the odd time it rained. The big draw of Mary Helen's cottage is the island itself, which is beautiful, private and sheltered from boat traffic. We enjoyed amazing sunrises and sunsets and got to know a family of loons that hung out in the bay just off the dock. There are garter and fox snakes around the property as well as ticks -- which we discovered on our dog after we got home. If you bring a pet, make sure they are on the tick meds beforehand. Parking is extra, and cost more than a nights stay at the cottage for two cars and a boat trailer, but the Marina manager Ed was helpful in pointing us towards the cottage and mentioning buoys and rocks. Having a smallish boat with an outboard motor is imperative as the dock at Mary Helen's is less than five feet deep. We loved our week at Mary Helen's cottage, and enjoyed boating to Picnic Island, Flynn's Irish Pub at the Delawanna Inn, and over to Beausoliel Island to visit friends. We will definitely book again!
