Eagles Nest is an extraordinary East End House (Sleeps 16) that is nestled in the Southampton Pine Barrens on almost 20-acres. This secluded home has beautiful views of nature with no neighbors and literally at the end of a dirt road. It's 10 minutes to South Fork or North fork areas.. House Information -

*** Early Check-In or Late Check-out is available at $75 dollars an hour. I'm negoitiable with those who have posittive reviews or a long rental.
*** Additional guests over 8 are charged an additional fee. The Fee is negotiable, and is set to be automatically calculated based on total guests. Each guest over 8 is a daily fee of $150.
Here is an overview of your space:
1 - The entire first floor, second floor, and laundry room in the basement are part of the rental. The rest of the basement and the cabin next door are not part of house rental. The basement is storage and the cabin is occupied by me or my manager.
1a - First Floor: 1 large Jr. Master bedroom with queen size bed and private bath. 1 large sunny bedroom with queen size bed bed.
1b - Kitchen, living room, wrap around deck on first floor.
1c - 2nd Floor: One large Master bedroom with king size bed with private terrace and full bath. Another bedroom with 2 twin XL beds.
1d - Please use front door, seatside sliding door, and south sliding door only. Do not use basement slider - it is locked.
2 - Wine Tour Guests can easily meet and park early at house (around 12 noon-ish) with other guests in order to get picked up my their Uber, taxi, or limo. Guests check-in at 4:00, or when they return from Wine Tour and this always works out great.
3 - Information on Hiking, Birding, and Photgraphing Around Eagles Nest and Maple Swamp Park –
There is a path from the house directly to the Eagles Nest, but the best way to watch them is leave the eastside of the house and head east through White Pines (red pine needles on ground) and go through fence opening near large fallen Black Pine. That leads you to one of the many trails in Maple Swamp Park.

For best eagle watching hike south and bear right at first fork. Go down into a valley of sorts and continue up to southwest trail that runs south of nest. Continue down trail until you find a good spot.
4 - A few paragraphs about eagle photos posted on house listing that I took this February/ March 2020– before foliage came in.
The pairling were somewhat open to me being around, but the larger female was much more aggressive and protective. We call her Inanna. The smaller male - who we call Enki, is much more chill and lays back, when I’m in their nest area. This is the normal role each gender plays. I don’t know if they raised a fledgling this year - 2020. Fledgling’s heads are not white/ bald, but brown in color for first 9 months. The eagles are very perceptive to your movement and you can get somewhat up-close photos with a $600-ish dollar zoom on a $600-ish dollar Nikon camera, and on a strong, adjustable, and stable tri-pod. I have a Bogen video tripod with telescopic legs for quick leveling. Those pictures are ALL from a tri-pod. No way can I hold and shoot.
Lighting and timing-wise I would go at at sunset so the sun would light up the eagles and any other birds coming by from behind me. The trail that runs south of the nest is good, but going off the trail and closer to the nest usually spooks them. Valley is ok for photos if they feel social, sometimes they just fly away being anti-social. When entering trails from Eagles Nest property be ready to photograph because they sit in high branches on the east side of valley during the day and at sunset.
UPDATE MAY 2021-
One Fledging born this year. It's big and brown already and real curious about the house, but not hungry enought to take free porgies off the chimney top.
I tried putting porgies and bluefish in a tree and on top of my chimney, but I guess the Peconic Bay fishing is too good around here for them to be desperate enough to be fed by a human. Oh well, I tried to be neighborly.

HOUSE RULES
1 - In addition to VRBO screening and vetting, this rental includes additional vetting and screening by proving your identity with a current driver's license or passport. ALL No Review Guests will be required to rent the normal way: 1 - with a rental application, and possibly a lease, with a security deposit of $1200 per night.
2 - All guests will have to PROVE YOUR RESERVATION NAME IS YOUR REAL NAME with either a current Driver's License or Passport before rental. If you used an alias to rent or are subletting the rental house YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY.
3 - NO VISITORS TO THE RENTAL HOUSE that are not guests allotted for in reservation / paid for, and staying the night. VIsitors can be pre-approved beforehand by communicating with Host or Manager. Perspective guests can also apply to rent house as an event / party rental.
4 - If additional cars and/or additional guest show up at the rental house let this FAIR WARNING HERE be your only warning as YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELLED IMMEADIATELY.
5 -- I'm sorry for these rental terms, but due to guests using aliaes, guests subletting, parties, over crowding at the rental house (police said 100 cars showed up once!!), damage to the rental house, and major problems with the Town, neighbors, and police. Not to mention being verbally, and almost physically assaulted numerous times by past guests that were "Verified" by VRBO. Therefore, these are my house rental terms.
6 -- I hope all perspective good guests understand my hosting predicament and I encourage you to be very communicative and fill out the rental application the best you can because I'm negotiable and want to rent the house to respectful and responsible guests.
7--OCCUPANCY. Guest agrees that he or she, and no more than the guests agreed upon at the time of making rental reservation shall occupy the Property, all of whom shall comply with the conditions and restrictions imposed upon Guest under this Agreement.
8 -- Small parties or events are allowed on the Property with prior approval from owner / host. Up to 20 car parking available as house is on a 15 acre lot at the end of a private dirt road.
9-- CONDITION AND USE OF PROPERTY. The Property is provided in “as is” condition. Owner/host shall use its best efforts to ensure the operation of all amenities in the Property, such as internet access, cable TV access. Guest acknowledges that use of the property, house, and the like may be potentially dangerous and involve potential risks if improperly used, particularly with regard to children and such use is at the Guest’s own risk.
10 -- Guest shall use the Property for residential purposes only and in a careful manner to prevent any damage or loss to the Property and keep the Property in clean and sanitary condition at all times. Guest and any additional permitted guests shall refrain from loud noise and shall not disturb, annoy, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor shall Guest use the Property for any immoral, offensive or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, association rules or ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the Property.
11 -- RISK OF LOSS AND INDEMNIFICATION. Guest agrees that all personal property, furnishings, personal affects and other items brought into the Property by Guest or their permitted guests and visitors shall be at the sole risk of Guest with regard to any theft, damage, destruction or other loss and owner/host shall not be responsible or liable for any reason whatsoever.
12 -- PARKING. Guest agrees that by parking on the property, all personal vehicles, personal affects and other items within the car, including tires, parked on the Property by Guest or their permitted guests and visitors shall be at the sole risk of Guest with regard to any theft, damage, destruction or other loss and owner/host shall not be responsible or liable for any reason whatsoever.
12 -- INDEMNITY. Guest hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless property owner/host and their agents, owners, successors, employees and contractors from and against any costs, damages, liabilities, claims, legal fees and other actions for any damages, costs, attorneys fees incurred by Guest, permitted guests, visitors or agents, representatives or successors of Guest due to any claims relating to destruction of property or injury to persons or loss of life sustained by Guest or family and visitors of Guest in or about the Property and Guest expressly agrees to save and hold owner/host harmless in all such cases.
13 -- RELEASE. Guest hereby waives and releases any claims against owner/host and their successors, assigns, employees or representatives, officially or otherwise, for any injuries or death that may be sustained by Guest, or their Guests on or near or adjacent to the Property.
