Looking for a peaceful romantic destination for you and that special someone? This idyllic two story cottage with water view is set on a 1200 acre historic farm that has been restored and preserved for its natural beauty. Birds and water fowl are abundant as well as the beautiful call of the owl. The farm is located just two miles from Brandon proper. Brandon boasts the Brandon Artists Guild as well as gift shoppes, antiques, and lovely walking through town with a viewing area at Neshobe Falls. Other attractions within a 10 mile radius include Neshobe Golf Course, New England Maple Museum/Fine Gifts, and Danforth Pewter. Branbury State Park on beautiful Lake Dunmore is a 15 minute drive, with canoe, kayak, row boat, and peddle boat rentals available at the park. There is also a trail head just before the state park leading to a breathtaking hike up to Silver Lake, a secluded Mountain lake only accessible on foot. Spring through fall, Brandon hosts a Farmers Market on Fridays and Middlebury hosts on Saturdays.
The cottage was added to the farm in 2008 in an effort to share the natural beauty that is Des Marais Farm. It includes a well-equipped full kitchen, a lovely dining area with stunning views all around, and a cozy living area. French doors off the kitchen lead to a stone patio for outside dining, morning coffee, bird watching and day dreaming. Winter visits to the cottage are stunning with vast snow laden fields and views of the snow covered peaks in the distance.
