Our fire-pit is set to inspire. Get your bonfire going, enjoy your morning coffee by it, get the hotdogs and/or marshmallows ready and roast away. Sit out and enjoy the fresh air. Watch the stars pop out overhead as the sun sets and gives way to night. For those lucky ones -- a glimpse of the Northern Lights is an incredible experience to enjoy.
Public access to Garfield Lake is just mins from the cabin if you want to bring your boat and the fishing is phenomenal! With over 20 documented species in the lake you're bound to catch something. Our favorites are Wallye, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.
The Paul Bunyan Trail is also just minutes away in LaPorte -- which is a great walking, biking trail in the summer and a snowmobile trail in the winter. ForestEdge Winery, Portage Brewing Company, Paul Bunyan State Forest, Headwaters of the Mississippi (Itasca State Park), Alton Heights Lookout Tower (Park Rapids) are all close by as well. As is the famous Leech Lake and all that Walker has to offer.
