Sauna in the woods (private) | Maison dans Giethmen

Our cozy bungalow is located in the middle of the woods of the Overijssel Vechtdal.
The forest house has a beautiful sauna and a big (wild) garden of more than 1000 m2 where you can rest and enjoy all the flora and fauna.
From the cottage you can walk, cycle and swim for hours. There are beautiful routes and you can easily jump in a canoe or enjoy a terrace in the lively Hanseatic town of Ommen.
Experience it for yourself: it is wonderful coming home to the fireplace here.
You enter through the kitchen equipped with all amenities such as a dishwasher, oven, microwave, hand blender and fridge with freezer compartment. We provide a cup of Nespresso (latte/capp. also possible), some tea and standard herbs. Choose the whistling kettle or the electrical kettle. Since we are quite tall ourselves, we have added a higher working area opposite the old sink.
Jeroen made the long dining table himself. Here you can of course dine together or finish some work behind your computer; we have super fast WiFi thanks to fiber optic.
In the living room you will find a large wood stove, a deep sofa and a sturdy reading chair, television (also Netflix), a Sonos music system, books and games. For more books, games and puzzles you can look at the reception. More on this later!
From the living room you reach our sauna. It gets very hot and thanks to the windows you can look straight into the forest. After your cold shower you can relax in the large garden of more than 1000 m2. We also have a fireplace outside for those who appreciate that. When it rains you can sit under the canopy (also handy to take off your boots after a wet walk)!
In the house you will find two bedrooms:
one with a double king-size bed (180x200) and one with a three-person bunk bed, the lower bed of which is a double (140x200). The bedrooms are darkened with wooden blinds.
Apart from some storage places, guests have free access to all areas. The swimming pool (May to Sept), the playground, table tennis table, football field, the jeu de boules and tennis court are also freely accessible to our guests.
The most beautiful things of the Netherlands come together in the Vechtdal in Overijssel. Forest, heathland, the rivers (Regge and Vecht), beautiful farms and vast meadows. You can easily cycle and walk everywhere and on the way you often encounter wild animals; from hedgehogs to roe deer. The Lemeler- and Archemerberg (berg means mountain) are also suitable for walks (view!), mountain biking or a horseback ride.
Nice towns such as Dalfsen and Zwolle are only 20 (train) minutes away; well worth it! There are also flea markets in Ommen. If you have a car, a tour of the various flea markets is also recommended. There is also a Ferris wheel in August and often live music.
Our cottage is the perfect base to enjoy the Vechtdal in all its facets. Here you will find a combination of nature, relaxation and (for those who want) luxury, thanks in part to some highly regarded restaurants in the area.

For those who like to snuggle by the fire directly: delicious tasting packages with local delicacies! A smaller introduction of various products à €18,50 or a more elaborate platter à €35,-.

Do you enjoy amazing experiences? Then call Aeroclub Salland around the corner and go gliding! Or.. do you already feel the adrenaline a little lower to the ground? Then book an afternoon of climbing at Outdoor Ommen or go archery at Rederij Peters.
For the modern treasure hunters among us: try Geocaching! More information about these semi-digital puzzle tours on the park's website.
Ommen station is a 15-minute bike ride from the house (provided you don't always stop to take pictures .. quite difficult!). Public transport bicycles are available at the station. It's also a nice walk by the way.
Travelers by car can leave these on the site. If you want a taxi it is best to book in advance. There is a small number of providers.
Peace, nature and privacy must be respected in the park, especially between 10 pm and 10 am.
The central heating heated to a maximum of 18 degrees all year round. For extra heat we use the wood stove. Do you also want to stoke? Please bring your own (kindling) wood and firelighters. No paper!! Instructions are in the cottage.
The cleaning includes: use of bed linen, tea and towel, bath towels, hammam towels and possibly light bathrobes.
Reception hours are 9 AM-11 AM Monday and Wednesday and 9 AM-12 PM Saturday. During the school holidays, the reception is open from Monday to Saturday in the morning.
Check out is at 10am. In some cases a late check-out (before 5 p.m.) is also possible for an additional €50 fee. Only in consultation!
At the reception (with bread service) you can rent bicycles (possibly with a child seat) and go-karts and you can buy coins here for the laundry room next door (also with dryer). In the laundry room you will also find games and books for all ages.
You can also rent electric barbecues at the reception.
Wanneer mensen een aanvraag doen zullen zij de waarden van het park respecteren en naleven: rust, natuur en privacy.
Om nog lang van ons huisje (en het bos) te kunnen genieten gaan we er vanuit dat al onze gasten de (online) handleiding goed zullen doorlezen. Let op: boven 19 graden huisje verwarmen met houtkachel.
Belangrijke afspraken uit de handleiding zijn:
veiligheid:
- bij rode vlag buiten geen open haard of bbq te gebruiken
- geen vuur/sauna onbemand achter te laten
- alleen roken op het terras bij de asbak.
hygiëne:
- in de sauna een hamamdoek te gebruiken (wordt verzorgd)
- neem eigen slippers mee
- alleen buiten te roken
- asbakken zelf legen en schoonmaken (geen peuken in open haard)
- voor vertrek de vaatwasser schoon en uitgeruimd te hebben
rust:
- geen luide muziek/TV die buiten het huisje te horen is
- de rust, natuur en privacy op het gehele park te respecteren
(met name tussen 22.00 en 9.00 uur)
natuur:
- geen rommel achterlaten tijdens tochten
- papier, glas en restafval scheiden (containers bij receptie)
- sauna niet ongebruikt laten draaien (sessie van max. 2 uur)
