Swydd Long Barn is a converted large 19th century stone barn in Swyddfynon, Ystrad Meurig, Ceredigion. The property overlooks open fields and woodland, with the 2000 acre Cors Caron National Nature Reserve in the distance and the Cambrian Mountains beyond.
Visitors have access to the remainder of a 600-acre working livestock farm with river, lakes, ponds and woodland - a wildlife paradise where over 140 species of bird have been recorded. Inside, the Long Barn is primarily open plan to take full advantage of the light and magnificent views. The layout is on one level for easy wheelchair access.
Swydd Long Barn is 500m from the village of Swyddffynnon and the road to Tregaron, yet feels wonderfully isolated. It is only a short drive to the coast of Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Mountains. The nearest shops, pubs and restaurants are also only a 15-minute drive away. Close to the Cambrian Mountains Astro Trail, with Coed Y Bont, Pontrhydfendigaid being the closest Dark Sky Discovery Site.
The university town of Aberystwyth is only a 20-minute drive which is home to the prestigious National Library of Wales. Enjoy the views from Constitution Hill either on foot or take the Aberystwyth Cliff railway. With its array of restaurants, shops and cafes, it's a must-visit.
