Welcome to The Cherry House, a smart and crisp two-level home in Plattekill. This house is very family friendly, inside and out, and offers the perfect setting for get togethers and exploring the greater Hudson Valley. The house is set way back off the road, down a private lane, and then further recessed into 10 flat, serene, country acres. For those of you who like to ski, the house is 53 miles from Hunter Mountain, 71 miles from Windham, and 60 miles from Belleayre Ski Resort.
The newly built house was never lived in, and now this sparking, spacious two level is available for the first time as an Airbnb.
The main level has a gourmet kitchen with every amenity, with a huge peninsula for those who want to sit and share the space with the cook. The dining area is adjacent with access to a large deck for BBQ grilling and relaxing, overlooking the large garden.
The open floor plan unites the kitchen, dining and living areas. The living room has a gas fireplace, large television, and tons of seating. It’s easy for all three areas to join together in conversation and gathering. Opening the French doors onto the second story deck brings the gathering outside.
The principal Queen bedroom suite is on this level, and has a huge bathroom with stone floored shower, double vanity sinks, and a walk-in closet. This room also has its own tv.
Two Queen size bedrooms are on the opposite end of this floor. All bedrooms have large windows with very pretty views looking out to trees and greenery. Next to these bedrooms is a family bathroom with a tub / shower combo.
Downstairs is a massive private suite with a Queen size bed, a large sitting area with a television, its own bathroom with shower, and private access to the garden through French doors. A crib is available, making this set up perfect for families.
The garden itself is incredibly large, great for both golfers who would like to practice their swing, and children to run and let off steam. The house is so set back and private that those with small children can relax, comforted that there are no cars or roads nearby and that they can safely watch their children play from the upper deck or the huge windows at the front of the property.
The home’s location is perfect for explorers, an easy drive to New Paltz and all it’s fine dining offerings, hiking the beautiful Shawangunk Ridge, and many wine trails.
