Villa Aloni is situated in Maza, a small village in the Kruonerida municipality, in the region of Apokoronas in the county of Chania, in Western Crete.
Maza is a small village in the foothills of the mountains, with about 100 permanent inhabitants. The village is about 37 km from the town of Chania, 35km from Rethymno and about 40 km from Chania airport ''Daskalogiannis'' .The nearest port ''Souda'' is 30 km away. The Venician lighthouse is situated in the old harbour at Chania 37 km away from Aloni Villa. From the original Venician lighthouse which dominated the entrance of the harbour, only the base survives today, built with the same sandstone as the Walls. The present light-house, rebuilt during the Egyptian occupation (1821-1841), is different from the original and is rather reminiscent of a minaret, as regards its shape and the inside stone staircase leading to the balcony and the glass tower.
