Welcome to Sunnyside Retreat! Enjoy our large, waterfront, beautifully decorated 4-bedroom 2.5 bath cottage on the shores of Lake Nosbonsing. Our cottage comfortably sleeps up to 12 people. An open concept kitchen means you can socialize while preparing your favorite meals! With may activities on the property and surrounding areas, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
The space
Sunnyside Retreat shares a road with a resort (resort facilities are not available to guests) in a secluded area just a few steps from Lake Nosbonsing. You will drive through the resort to get to Sunnyside Retreat, stay to the left and our cottage is at the very end of the road.
The exterior property has a fire pit area with Muskoka chairs for you to relax! There are outdoor games to play, and, in the Summer, guests have access to watercraft (canoe, kayak, paddle board). You are able to walk down to the private waterfront. Due to the landscaping, there is not direct access to the water for boats, seadoos, or snowmobiling, however there are many OFSC trails to access in the area. Please see Renee's online Guidebook for great places in the area to visit for these and many other activities.
The cottage itself has many upgrades including beautiful flooring throughout, new patio doors, trim, baseboards, hardware, banisters and more!
Inside the door to the cottage, you will find an entryway to keep your shoes, and hang up your coats. New stackable washer and dryer are also located here for guests to use. To your right is a half bathroom.
Enjoy an open concept kitchen, dining and living room overlooking the backyard and Lake Nosbonsing. It's a perfect area to cook and catch up with friends or loved ones. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and has everything you need to make delicious meals. We provide our guests with plastic dishes for outdoor use.
The living room has a flat screen smart T.V. and a comfortable couch to snuggle up after a long adventurous day.
The dining table expands, extra chairs are provided as well as stools for the breakfast area to accommodate 12 guests. It's very relaxing to enjoy a great meal while overlooking the water!
The main floor has one bedroom, equipped with a queen size bed. There is also a full bathroom on this floor, which is equipped with a double vanity, stand up shower and roomy jacuzzi.
At the top of the stairs going to the upper level there is a second seating room with a large sectional and flat screen t.v. This level also has three more bedrooms. All are beautifully decorated, two with one queen size bed in each, the third bedroom has two single over double bunk beds. Plenty of room for the whole family!
The exterior of the property is not fenced, so please keep an eye on little ones as our cottage is located on Lake Nosbonsing.
We do have 3 working exterior cameras for security purposes. They are directed at the driveway, pathway and water.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire cottage, yard area and waterfront area. Life jackets, boat safety kits and outdoor games are located in the shed closest to the water. Guests do not have access to the crawl space under the cottage, nor the neighboring resort.
Other things to note
Sunnyside Retreat is not yet equipped with a generator. We have flashlights and battery powered lanterns located in the closet under the stairs off the living room in case of a power failure. If the power is out for longer than 45 minutes, you will need to contact Renee, our local co-host to attend and get the water back on for you.
While power outages happen, we unfortunately do not have control of when the power will be back on.
