The Shippon is a one-bedroom first-floor flat with its own private entrance set within the grounds of the owner’s home close to Cranbrook, Whimple, and Broadclyst. The apartment has been lovingly furnished to ensure a comfortable stay. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area are cosy and perfectly proportioned. The kitchen is equipped equipped for most of your catering needs. The living area is a great space to relax in after a busy day exploring Devon. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed plus a day bed which can accommodate two additional children under the age of twelve. There is also an en-suite shower room. The apartment at the front has a vista of National Trust Woodland, and to the rear, the bedroom window overlooks Exeter Power Station and the owner’s business. There will be other vehicles going in and out the entrance.
The apartment is located two miles from Broadclyst Village and Whimple Village, both have a small shop, pubs, and restaurants. The New Inn pub is within a 15-minute walk and a highly-rated restaurant is only 1½ miles away. The Shippon is a great base for exploring the color-coded walks at Ashclyst Forest, Killerton House, Bicton Gardens, Powderham Castle, and the cathedral city of Exeter which combines high street shopping with places of interest such as the Roman Wall, the ancient cathedral, and the quay area. Exeter airport is only 10 minute drive away, and guests can drive 5 minutes to Whimple to get a 12-minute train into the centre of Exeter. The River Exe Estuary at Topsham and Lympstone with many attractive pubs and restaurants is just a 20-minute drive away. If it’s the coast you are looking for, within a short journey there are both sandy and pebble beaches at Exmouth, Sidmouth, and Branscombe, as well as coastal walks, or fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast.
