Just step out of the door and you are in the beautiful Thetford Forest with its 18,000 hectares to explore, perfect for families, friends or couples not only in the summer, but what could be better than coming back after a winter walk to the comforting warmth of the Aga? There is a river and many walks where much wildlife can be seen. A short distance away is Brandon Country Park and the popular High Lodge where you will find four walking trails, three cycling trails, picnic areas and a café; it is also home to Go Ape.
Just half an hour away is the historic town of Bury St Edmunds with its array of shops and Cathedral, then why not try the Town Trail, which is a great way to discover the area. Other cities within a 35 mile radius are Cambridge, a university city located on the River Cam and the historic city of Norwich both containing enormous amounts of history. Just 40 miles away is the North Norfolk coast with 45 miles of stunning coastline, with breath taking coastal walks where fantastic wildlife can be seen. Also 40 miles away is the stunning Norfolk Boards which is an area of outstanding beauty and many an hour can be spent at the many pubs that line the Broads while you watch the boats sail by.
