Villas Gabrielle is located in a peaceful area near Ahangama, in the deep South of Sri Lanka which is two miles away from the ocean. The villa is surrounded by the peaceful salty water river Goviyapana and is located in one of the top surfing & diving hotspots of the world. While being off the tourists’ path we are less than five minutes tuk-tuk ride away from all the excitement of the main beaches and the town area.
The villa is a beautiful Sri Lankan house build with the Dutch colonial architecture spirit. The house is fully serviced with its own pool and a garden on the river side. It is perfectly suited for individual, couple, family or a group of friends looking for a quiet and luxurious property while being near from all the center of interests.
The villa has been designed to create a bright, airy and relaxing atmosphere. It has been furnished in a luxurious but comfortable style, keeping the needs of our guests in mind at all times. All rooms are on ground level. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and a ceiling fan.
Villas Gabrielle consists of three units, the Grand Suite, the Family Suite and the Honeymoon Suite. Each unit can be rented out separately as they all have independent entrance.
The Honeymoon Suite is a large room with a build in queen size bed and a lovely tub added to the room, this feature adds a little special something to the place. This 45 sqm suite has got an indoor bathroom with a beautiful stonewall and a polished cement shower area. An outdoor terrace faces the pool area, garden and pavilion. The Honeymoon suite has its own romantic feeling. A charming and welcoming unit, located at the end of the pool, adds an amazing view to the room.
Our swimming pool, surrounded with sunbeds and parasols for lazing away the day is over looked by the shared covered living pavilion which accommodate a seating and a dining area cooled by the breeze and overhead fans. Our guests can enjoy long lunches and dinners on the large handcrafted dining table.
Villas Gabrielle has its own riverside jungle glade, a beautiful private tropical garden which nestles amidst coconut palms, cinnamon tress, ginger plants and a bird-of-paradise flowers. Just imagine relaxing under the swaying palm trees watching the many colorful native birds and the occasional passing monkey visiting our garden!
Villas Gabrielle is fully staffed by our Butler, Chef and Housekeepers. Our manager is also available at all times. Our staff is always discreet which ensures the privacy and relaxation of our guests, whilst at the same time assisting them to have a wonderful holiday experience. There is a central kitchen from where the chef prepares you a wide variety of dished ranging from international cuisine to astonishing local specialties and on top of that, there is also a small kitchen within Villas Gabrielle for easy convenience which is managed by our lovely Butler Ishan. The owners are also available by phone or email at all times if needed.
Getting to the is very easy, let us know your Flight Number, arrival date/time and we will arrange airport pick up for you (to be paid directly to the driver). Driving time is around 2.5 to 3hrs.

Around the villa, there are a lot of activities to do. The main town area, Weligama with its world-famous surfing beach is just fifteen minutes tuk-tuk ride away. Closer is the …. Beach which is perfect for beginners and pas beginners. We are also very close (20min) from Galle and its historic UNESCO World Heritage Site Fort and famous art and cultural area.
Nearby are the towns of Mirissa, which has a very laid-back vibe with its colorful beach bars & famous surfing breaks and also Matara with its off-shore temple shopping areas.
Weligama town has banks, shopping and a medical center, in fact everything you would expect to find in a town environment. Tuk-tuks are the local taxis and are a cheap fun way to get around.
There are many cheap fun excursions on offer in the area; as snake farm, batik factory, turtle hatchery…and this is to name just a few. The whole area is beautiful and full of nature. You can take part in yoga and meditation classes. Massages and Ayurvedic treatment are also available. Also possible are activities like river BBQ, fishing by boat, personally butlered nature safari, spending a lazy day at a beach cabana, stilt fishing (ritipanna), canoeing and paddling around the house or to the sea, Galle city tour, whales and dolphin watching and most and for all surf lessons. Note that all these activities can be arranged form the house or in advance by us upon request.
