Luxury Glamping (5 tents and one vintage caravan, each with a private bathroom) on the Limousin/Auvergne border, South West France.
Book our whole site for your family get together, special birthday celebration, reunion, or any other event. Our individual tents sleep between 2 and 5, with varying layouts - see below. New to our site in 2022 is our magnificent 7m Bell Tent (Galileo) which can sleep up to 5 in one standard double, two single and a sofa bed. The site can accommodate up to 20 people at a time and can be taken either individually (please see individual listings, refs listed below) or in a group. Our spacious bell tents are furnished with a mixture of modern and vintage French furniture, the caravan is a remodelled, vintage model from the early 1970's. All units are comprehensively stocked with everything you may need and are sited, well spaced, in a field of about 3 acres overlooking serene countryside. Kadai Fire Bowls are provided for cooking and campfires and there are also outdoor kitchens (with 2/3 gas rings) under a furnished dining canopy for each unit. Deckchairs are provided for a relaxing time in the sun.
One of the ancient barns houses 6 luxuriously appointed wc/shower rooms, one for each family, for their exclusive use during their stay. A quirky, covered washing up area makes even this chore a sociable event!
We have a beautiful swimming pool and also a barn and a marquee, both of which are set up for our guests' use enabling you all to eat and socialise together in a choice of locations. The barn also houses a large gas range cooker for an alternative cooking method, a bar area, open fire and comfortable seating. We have a DVD player and projector for film nights if you wish! There is a fridge for each unit, and an additional fridge for communal use. You will also find a very large Kadai Firebowl with benches all around for group barbeques and star gazing nights, with roasted marshmallows of course!
All bed linen and towels are provided. We have a centuries old bread oven in which we will cook pizzas, a large communal fire pit and fantastic star gazing opportunities. Our surrounding area is conducive to peace and relaxation with numerous outdoor activities to be enjoyed, stunning scenery and interesting places to visit.
Our bell tents come in four different layouts/sleeping arrangements. The tents are all named (linked to stars/constellations/astronomy)....
2 berth tent - Estelle - this is 5 metres in diameter with a double bed and additional seating (a French banquette can be equipped to sleep a small child) - best suited to a couple. (property ref 8529370 )
2 + 2 berth tent - Aurora - is a 6 metres in diameter with a double bed and a day bed that can either be used as a single or can be converted to a king sized bed (with two single mattresses). We can also add another single bed if this is a preferred option. These might suit either a couple who would like the extra space, or a family, or perhaps two single people holidaying together. 4 berth tents - Lyra and Cassini - these tents are 6 metres in diameter and are furnished with a double bed and two full sized single beds and, as such, are ideal for a family (Property Refs 8533135 & 8533115).
5 Berth tent - Galileo - a new offering for 2022, this is a magnificent 7m diameter tent sleeping a family of 5 in comfort with a seating area too. New photos will be added as soon as we have them! (property ref 8533102)
Each tent can accommodate a travel cot. We make no charge for infants under the age of two years. If you wish to hire a ‘baby care package’ which includes a full size cot (bedding included), high chair and baby bath at €10 per night, please get in touch.
We also have two 3m diameter 'Baby Bell' annexe tents. These can be added to any of our pitches to increase occupation, or to give more privacy (perhaps for older children/teenagers?).
Luna, new to our site for 2020 is a refurbished and re-designed early 1970's vintage caravan. (Property Ref: 8533085). The interior has been re-designed to create quirky, stylish, fully equipped accommodation for upto 5 people in a fixed standard double bed, a slightly smaller double bed (130 x 220 cms) can be converted from the original dinette area and a child's single bed created from the 'sofa' . The interior gives living space for a couple in luxury or a family in comfort. Moving outside, a covered deck to the front provides a comfortable dining area and an outdoor 'kitchen'. Luna is positioned in a secluded corner of our site with a private garden area equipped with a Kadai Firebowl/Firepit, deckchairs, parasol etc. The caravan itself is totally 'off grid', but Eco friendly low energy LED lighting is powered by a solar panel for convenience and candlepower for ambience. (During cooler months, it may be possible to provide a mains-powered radiator).
Our main season runs from late May till the end of September. If you would like to take your holiday either earlier in May or in October please call to discuss rates and availability.
