Welcome to our little corner of the gastronomic town of Saulieu, at the gates of the Morvan Natural Park where you will find a beautiful traditional house and a quiet garden with fountains, birds and an atmosphere of tranquility. We have completely renovated our ground floor to create a beautiful studio, with private entrance, kitchen area and shower room which overlooks our garden (shared with us - an English / French couple without children, 3 chihuahuas). Luxury accommodation in town.
Our concept is to offer you the quality of a 4-star hotel suite, but with a kitchen area that will allow you to make your breakfast or meal. With independent access by secure key box, you will feel at home right away. Our city will offer you a good selection of restaurants on foot, as well as the nearby shops and cafes to buy food or have breakfast in town.
You will have access to the ground floor of the house, with a front yard and garden behind (shared with us). There is an entrance to the kitchen area with mini oven, hotplates, fridge / freezer, 'senseo' coffee machine, equipped to make a meal, then there is a brand new bathroom with travertine tiles and rain shower. A door leads to the bedroom which is spacious and includes a sofa and dining table. TV and wifi.
Saulieu is celebrated for the restaurant 'Bernard Loiseau' and its luxury Spa. It is also known for its cheap Saturday morning. It is a historic town with a beautiful church. The people are welcoming and the small shops in the city are nice and good quality. Cheese dairy, butcher, wine cellar, bakery, chocolate factory, florist, a fine selection of independent shops. Behind our house there is a swimming pool (outside) and tennis courts. It is possible to make beautiful hikes in the forest from the house. The Morvan Natural Park and the Great Morvan Lakes are very close, as are Beaune, Dijon and Vezelay.
It is better to explore the region with a car but it is also possible to take the TGV to Montbard (1hr from Paris) and then take the bus which corresponds with the TGV to go from Montbard - Saulieu. Our house is in the city center near the bus stop. To go visit Dijon there is a bus too. Parking in the city is free and available. If you need secure parking we can give you access to our garage (on request).
