Exclusive second floor luxury 5 star 170 sq m penthouse apartment on 2 floors with enormous sunroof, BBQ & seating areas with outstanding views stretching across farmland to the sea, and back towards Guardamar del Segura and rural hills.
This 2nd floor apartment building stands on its own, with a south westerly aspect.
It has a lift directly to the door.
Wheelchair access is good.
The basement has a garage if required, but parking 30 m away is easy and free.
This marvellous property is the permanent sumptuous home of an artist, who travels widely, and rents only to quality discerning guests.
It is a large 170 sq m, and has just 2 bedroom suites and 2 bathrooms with large living areas, so there are many safe areas where children can sleep and run around, particularly upstairs in a large light and airy room with little restrictions.
The full size master bed is perfect for adults and the second bedroom suite has a slightly narrower double bed, sometimes called a 'french bed' 140cm wide (half again bigger than a single, but less than a queen-size) that will sleep one adult or 2 'friendly' adults! or of course children.
There are large comfortable sofas throughout the apartment that could sleep 2 more adults or 4 children if required.
In the entrance hall there is staircase leading to the 2nd floor. Alongside this there is a family bathroom and then a door to the 2nd bedroom suite with its own sofa seating area, TV and seated balcony looking south over farmland to the forest and the sea, just 600m away.
Facing you is a top quality fully equipped kitchen and then as you turn right you enter a very large living area.
The luxury dining area has a table seating 6 and is surrounded by antique furniture and artefacts.
Because it is ostensibly a home, with many valuable pieces, you will be asked to sign a simple inventory, and to pay the usual refundable breakage deposit of £200/ euro. This will be returned to you at the end of your visit.
South facing windows look towards Guardamar Del Segura.
The snug area at the far end has 2 super luxury 2/3 seat sofas and doors out to its south westerly seated balcony. The sumptuous sofas make ideal beds for children up to early teens if necessary.
Opposite is a large satellite TV with international channels.
Across from the snug area is the door to the large master bedroom suite.
Electricity supply is included in the rental price, except for Air Conditioning, which is available, but payment is required via a coin box, using only 1 or 2 euro coins.
The cost of cleaning after your visit is 65 euro and laundry is 5 euro per person, and is payable on your arrival when you collect the keys.
Upstairs on the top floor there is a large artist’s studio with dining table and lots of space and big windows.
Glass patio doors to the sun roof/balcony/BBQ areas and fabulous views.
The apartment is situated on a quiet crossroads at the southern end of La Marina village as you enter from the direction of Guardamar Del Segura, or if you are approaching from Alicante airport it lies at the far end of the village.
150m from the apartment, along the road south, there is a supermarket and a further 100m on the other side of the road is 'Los Carmelos' a simply outstanding tapas bar, with its own wine barrels and a unique serve yourself arrangement.
Further down, about another 200m there is a quite exclusive residential cabin site with restaurant, bars, gym and pools available to non residents.
7km further on is the interesting town of Guardamar, lying on the coast and on the estuary of the river Segura.
Lots of bars & restaurants & shopping all over the town, and halfway through the town is the end of a pine forest that stretches back 9km north to beyond your apartment and La Marina village.
The forest finishes in the town skirting a short road from the town hall to the beach. An artisan market is almost always set up down this road.
At the beach and along 100m, a promenade begins towards the south, for about 1km, and is backed by restaurants and bars all fronting a glorious sand beach. A great stroll. Just idyllic.
On Wednesdays the town has a market throughout the streets.
There is a bus from La Marina to Guardamar and beyond, running all the time.
Back at the apartment, if you walk towards the sea, you are walking down a really quiet country road through the agriculture areas with few buildings.
Half way, about 300m, a low line pine forest starts, and stretches for the remaining 300m to the dunes and the beach.
In amongst the pines there are shaded flat natural areas, simply great for picnics.
The beach and the forest run in both directions, and are backed by sand dunes and a rough track, suitable for walking and cycling, and sometimes slow careful cars.
Looking back over the pine forest towards La Marina, about 600m away, there are no buildings in either direction north or south, just forest and farmland, which stretches for several kilometres both ways.

The reason why the forest exists, from halfway to Santa Pola in the north, and Guardamar in the south, is that it was planted in the 1920’s to stop the beach invading any further inland, and still remains mostly free of development.
For about 100m along the beach, the only buildings are ancient fisherman’s terraced cottages, which are leased to visitors and sit right at the back of the beach. 2 of these cottages are now locally owned restaurants with seating against the beach.
Walking north along the track or over dunes or beach after the cottages, there is nothing for a kilometre or so until the fisherman’s cottages resume for about half a kilometre, all rented out and including 2 more restaurant bars up against the sand. Bar restaurant Galicia overlooking the ocean at the end produces a super paella.
A worthy note to say here, is that almost all the restaurants are Spanish owned in this area, so they are still surviving the onslaught of the English, German, French & Dutch moving in!

A little further on there are big salt lakes just behind the dunes, which have been created by a process involving a line of double dunes, and the wind from the sea lifting twice and depositing salt.
These lakes are a haven for birds of all varieties and there are walks through and around the lakes with several bird watching huts.
400m further along there are the larger salt lakes with a commercial operation producing table salt. Standing on one leg are maybe one hundred large white flamingos feeding in the shallow waters. Their undersides are all pink. A must see!
The village of La Marina, just 200m from the apartment, is essentially a backwater diversion off the main 332 coast road, and is only 1km long.
It has bars and restaurants, supermarket, gift shops, pharmacy, health club, butcher, a phone shop, banks, newsagents, opticians, health holistic supply shop, greengrocers, hardware and more. It’s very convenient for most things.
If you want serious shopping then a bus goes hourly south to Guardamar and beyond to Torrevieja and Cartegna and hourly north to Santa Pola, Eche and Alicante.
Alicante old town has narrow streets with bars & restaurants, mostly outside, and a big marina for those who like to ponder boats, and just across in the main town the shopping is serious!
