Cosy stone house, restored with natural materials, facing the Monts d‘Arrée mountain massif and near the Morlaix bay with its islands
This beautiful old stone house is in rural surroundings, facing the Monts d’Arrée mountain massif in Plounéour-Ménez. It is in the Armorique regional park, which is known for its diversity of flora and fauna. The nearby Morlaix bay offers a fabulous landscape with many islands and islets that are worth exploring.
The stone house from the year 1675 was originally an old weaver’s house, before it was completely restored in 2008. In order to preserve the unique character of the house, natural materials such as limestone, hemp and untreated wood were used. The house has four bedrooms, of which two have a double bed 140cm wide and the other two each have two single beds 90cm and 120cm wide. One bedroom is on the ground floor, while the other three are on the upper floor. Two additional folding beds can be provided free of charge, so that a total of ten people can be accommodated. Two cots can also be provided. On the ground floor and on the upper floor there is a bathroom. One has a bath and a double washbasin, while the other has a shower. There are a washing machine and dryer in the separate laundry room. The kitchen-diner with a dining space is modern and fully-equipped, including a dishwasher and microwave. The centrepiece of the house is the cosy living room. The beautiful old stone flooring, exposed stone walls and wooden beams give it a special ambience. When you are sitting on the comfortable sofa in front of the TV in the evening, with a crackling fire in the fireplace, then you will feel an all-round sense of well-being.
On the south side of the house there is a wooden suite providing comfortable seating for you to relax on. Children can play here and indoor and outdoor toys are provided. Bicycles are also available for use.
Two folding beds 90cm wide and various items of baby equipment, such as two cots, a baby bath, a potty, a playpen, a WC seat, two highchairs, a pram and a carrier are available.
The house is the ideal starting point for the “Circuit des Enclos Paroissiaux”, a circular route with visits to old, enclosed parish estates. The nearby forests invite you to go on beautiful hikes. One of the trails, for example, leads to the Chateau de Coatlosquet or to the Relecq abbey from the year 1132. You can enjoy a panoramic view from the peaks of the mountain ridges. If you are lucky, you will also meet deer, beavers or otters in the nearby ponds during your walks.
