The Edington Orchard House, built in the 1700s, was the original Gate House to the neighboring Edington Priory. Orchard House was recently refurbished in 2021 and offers an opportunity to escape to the English countryside in a cosy, intimate setting. There are a plethora of original features in this house, all adding up to make a splendid home away from home.
The Orchard House sleeps up to 8 people and is ideal for two families or a group of friends to share. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full electric AGA and a robust farm table for entertaining. The cosy sitting room features an open stone fireplace, and the TV snug has a wood stove to make even the coldest night a pleasure. Definitely take the time to start a fire, and sit, read a book, watch a show, or enjoy a G&T.
Located upstairs and split over two levels, the four bedrooms are all lovely. There are three queen guest suites and a twin bed in the attic room. The property has two bathrooms, one with a full bathtub, and the other with a marble shower, and both with heated towel racks and a window for enjoying the country air while getting ready for your day. There is a large garden with lounge chairs, a fire pit, gas BBQ, and an outside dining area, all setup to maximise the stunning views across the Priory Orchard. This traditional red brick cottage is so cosy you won’t want to leave except to go to the pub, of course.
*For larger groups, the Orchard House can be rented in conjunction with its sister cottage the Brewhouse. Rented together, both cottages can accommodate groups up to 12 people in 6 bedrooms.
