A tranquil retreat in the heart of Dartmoor, this lovely 1-bed apartment is one of two in a converted 17th century barn and features exposed stonework and original timbers. Perfect for two, it has one bedroom (king or twin) and a brand new kitchen and ensuite shower. This ground floor apartment can also sleep 1-2 children on a comfy sofa bed. and welcomes 1-2 well-behaved dogs. It's a short stroll to Yelverton village with its shops, pub and cafes.
Freshly renovated in 2022 it has a lovely open plan living space with kitchen area (fan oven, 4-ring ceramic hob, microwave, under counter fridge freezer), sofa bed, armchair and a dining table with chairs. The new decor includes quality furnishings and vintage accessories, which complement the original stonework, beams and stripped pine floor.
The bedroom has a zip-link bed which can be configured as a superking or two single beds, and is dressed in crisp white bed linen. The new shower room features a rainfall shower with separate hand held attachment, all in sparkling white. Bathroom towels and Baylis & Harding toiletries are provided, along with starter loo rolls.
Amenities include Freeview TV, free wifi, gas central heating, free onsite parking, books and games, a breakfast starter pack (eggs, bread, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, marmalade and condiments). Guests are welcome to use the House's pretty garden (sorry no dogs) and veranda, which are accessed via the garden gate a few metres along the lane and shared with other guests. For doggies, footpaths are steps away. The House also offers pre-dinner cocktails and an honesty bar for all guests.
Harrabeer is a characterful house with a 17th century heart and a Victorian wing. Renovated for 2022, our three individually designed guest rooms feature designer fabric, selected artwork and vintage and antique treasures and are set in the Victorian wing. The two self-catering apartments (one dog-friendly) are in the converted 17th century barn with original exposed stonework and beams.

Breakfast is served in our airy Victorian dining room and the beamed guest lounge – a 1650s Devon longhouse – has a woodburner and well-stocked honesty bar, and a cocktail of the day is served at 6.30pm. The covered verandah and tranquil garden are also at all guests’ disposal, as are plentiful books and games.
Situated on a quiet residential lane, Harrabeer is just a short walk from Yelverton’s shops, eateries and pub, and from the moor itself. We’re perfectly located for walkers, cyclists, wild swimmers and holidaymakers to explore Dartmoor’s majestic scenery, with or without a car. The Drake's Trail, a 23 mile walking and cycling trail, runs through Yelverton and there are footpaths outside our door. Ancient Tavistock and maritime Plymouth are nearby, as are renowned gardens, stately homes and the Devon and Cornish coasts.
We’re also a favourite with our neighbours’ families and friends and have seen many happy family reunions! Whatever you reason for visiting, we’ll do our utmost to make you feel at home.
