The sandy beach of Kato Stalos, is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island and has been awarded a blue flag for its cleanliness and organization. Southward towards the mainland, Pano Stalos is a picturesque example of traditional Cretan architecture while surrounded by lush green olive groves and beautiful rock formations. Overall it is an excellent holiday destination, just 7 km west of Chania, the second largest city in Crete. It is an ideal base for exploring the island, with regular public transport to and from the city center.
