Welcome to Villa Luna Matana, Lucio Dalla's retreat where he used to spend his holidays in the Tremiti Islands. In particular, the property is located in San Domino, the largest island of the archipelago.
The artist from Bologna deeply loved the villa and spent long periods there on holiday, resting but also working and being creative.
The property is located in the picturesque inlet of Cala Matano, one of the green island's most appreciated scenic settings. It also has a recording studio and it was here that the singer-songwriter composed one of his most famous songs, 'Com'è profondo il mare', as well as other songs that have become pieces of Italian music history.
Cala Matana was the inspiration for the 2001 album 'Luna Matana'.
The villa was the place of emotions linked to the sea, which Dalla loved deeply and which he also defended with civil commitment, inspiring demonstrations against environmental destruction and promoting the birth of movements and associations in defence of the sea and its ecosystem
The Space:
The property can accommodate up to 8 people.
It is immersed in the greenery of CALA MATANA, enjoys a wonderful view of the sea and is spread over four levels:
- Ground floor: there is 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom and 1 large living room. The ground floor is surrounded by the terrace overlooking both Cala Matana and the Island of San Nicola. The outdoor areas are equipped for use during your stay (deckchairs, tables, etc.). There is also a barbecue and a working wood-burning oven.
- First floor: on this floor there is the sleeping area consisting of 2 small bedrooms with 1 bunk bed per room (tot. 4 places), 1 double bedroom, 1 antechamber with double sofa bed and 2 bathrooms.
- Terrace/solar pavement.
- Basement: here is the recording room with piano. In view of the value of the goods it contains, this area is for the use of our caretaker.
N.B. Guests, with prior notice, may be accompanied to visit this area, but will not have free access to it during their stay.
Getting Around:
The Tremiti Islands can only be reached during daylight hours by hydrofoil or ferry.
The journey only operates during the summer tourist period (June to September) and the time varies from about 50 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours, depending on the route and the means of transport used.
The shipping companies operating are the NLG and the Gruppo Armatori Garganici.
