There's no need to tow. Jinny will be pitched up & everything will be ready for your arrival. Campsites in this idyllic area are booked well in advance so we've reserved a great spot where Jinny is pitched for the summer 2022 (see photos). This year we are lucky to have a hard stand with your own grass siding a few feet from previous pitch. All campsite fees for caravans @£25 per night are included in your booking price.
Jinny, our 1960's vintage caravan is beautifully designed, spacious and comfortable with a wee bit of luxury.
Vintage caravans of this era are true gems. Perfect for two.
The standard size Double bed is permanently in place with separate dining area so there's no need to fold it away during the day.
Living here and knowing the campsites well we have chosen Sunart Campsite in Strontian, West Highlands. The caravan is positioned so that it has a pleasant private outlook from the front dining area. Jinnys reserved pitch is away from the main campsite through path where you can enjoy the country surroundings, soak up the sun, put up the sun shade or sit under the shade of the tree.
Sunart Campsite is just a short walk to the picturesque loch shore, shop, pub and restaurants & is fringed by beautiful ancient Oakwoods.
Bikes can be hired at the campsite. Great for a short ride to a wee secluded sandy beach nearby.
Scuba diving, Canoe hire & Wildlife boat trips nearby.

Strontian is a beautiful part of Ardnamurchan Peninsula with lovely walks along the shores, hills and ancient Sunart Oakwoods. The romantic ruin of Castle Tioram is a few miles away and beautiful sandy beaches at Ardtoe and Kentra are just a half hour drive from the campsite. Trips are easily made to stunning sandy beaches, islands and film locations to the north.

This area of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula is a much loved destination for campers, ramblers and hikers with breathtaking views to the mountains and sea lochs. There are lovely walks near the campsite, also along coastal paths, ancient woodlands, hills and sea lochs. The beautiful sandy beaches at Ardtoe and Kentra are great for nearby trips and the stunning sands of Sana Bay make a lovely day out - around an hour away along the picturesque winding coastal road westward.
The sunsets here can be awe-inspiring.
A scenic drive just over an hour north brings you to Arisaig, Morar and Glenfinnan, an area which has been featured in a number of films including Highlander, Rob Roy, Local Hero and Harry Potter.
Here you can find boat trips to the islands, kayak hire and horse riding on the beaches.

This area is roughly a two and a half hour drive from Inverness Airport or going north from Glasgow. Trains run directly from Glasgow to Fort William then bus to Strontian. Car hire is available in Fort William. It would be an advantage to have a car to explore but not essential for the local area.
There is a 5 minute ferry crossing over to Ardnamurchan from Corran 9 miles south of Fort William. The ferry goes back and forth throughout the day. Regular daily services at 30 minute intervals.
